Having nearly completed this outstanding book, I have decided to re-commence a series of TTUF Profiles based on this resource; however we will also employ information from other printed and Internet resources.

QUESTION: WHY CONCERN OURSELVES?
Why would we want to even address these particular people and not rather focus entirely on the Gospel, and other crucial biblical matters? The Gospel is a non-negotiable for all believers, and something we must all do our part to proclaim in obedience to the Great Commission as mandated by our LORD Jesus Christ.

The Battle of Life Continues – From Victory to Vanquishment

Any believer who has experienced a spiritual victory exults in the joy of it; knowing assuredly that the LORD has been in the midst and has granted such to people like us: mere clay vessels in which the Holy One inhabits and has made us citizens of the kingdom of God!

A series of victories and blessings upon us (and God is ever willing and generous to pour such blessings) however can be a potential spiritual danger.

This is often why God must temper His outpourings, because as is often the case, this can lead our deceptive hearts to the lie that there is something about ourselves that is worthy to receive these things from God; that there is something about our own strength, and wisdom, and saintliness that has brought to us these victorious blessings and blessed victories.

Biblical Perspective & Movie Review on: THOR – god of Thunder

 The long anticipated film of THOR was released some weeks back, and having seen it once already, I decided to go see it with some other friends a second time, and I was sure to take lots of mental notes as well. 

 I grew up reading Thor comics (graphic novels as they are called today) from Marvel publications. I always thought it would make a great movie what with the appeal of the super hero, but also with the fantastical element of Norse mythology (particularly since the huge success of The Lord of the Rings). 

I was quite eager to view the film and hoped it would succeed and do the comic justice. Kenneth Branagh directed the film and brought all of his Shakespearean knowledge and experience directing (and acting) in such productions to bear with this film of the god of thunder.

The Battle of Life Continues –

Joshua, General of Victorious Israel – A Type of Jesus Leading the Church into Victory Let’s proceed from the Pentateuch (the first five books as written by Moses) onto the book of Joshua and learn about their campaigns, victories . . . and failures and how we can apply such lessons to us today as the church of Jesus Christ.

When Moses was confronted by Pharaoh about departing, he couldn’t convince this Deliverer of Israel to leave the elderly and young in Egypt while the others went into the wilderness to sacrifice unto the LORD; he then attempted to persuade him to leave his livestock behind. Moses’ response is pregnant with meaning:

EXODUS 10:26
Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.

Global Transformation, Sustainable Development, Social Justice, Emergent, Forward Thinking…these are just a few of the ever increasing number of new terms being tossed around today, and I’m afraid that most people don’t really understand the nature of their true meaning.

Old Testament Examples of SPIRITUAL WARFARE:

Paul the Apostle stated in:

ROMANS 15:4
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Denotatively speaking this refers to the prophetic scriptures that relate to Christ Jesus; on a more general basis, they can also refer to the various episodes of Old Testament history, and how Israel as a nation obeyed God and were blessed, or contrariwise, disobeyed and were chastened.

We can derive from Old Testament passages the truth of God’s faithfulness, even when Israel herself proved faithless; God would not deny His Word, particularly where the Abrahamic and Davidic Covenants were concerned.
So likewise we as Christians have every reason for the hope granted to us by a faithful and Almighty God!

We as the church can look back in hindsight and learn from their examples, both in the positive and negative sense.
