"We see, in many a land, the proudest dynasties and tyrannies still crushing, with their mountain weight, every free motion of the Consciences and hearts of men. We see, on the other hand, the truest heroism for the right and the greatest devotion to the Truth in hearts that God has touched. We have a work to do, as great as our forefathers and, perhaps, far greater. The enemies of Truth are more numerous and subtle than ever and the needs of the Church are greater than at any preceding time. If we are not debtors to the present, then men were never debtors to their age and their time. Brethren, we are debtors to the hour in which we live. Oh, that we might stamp it with Truth and that God might help us to impress upon its wings some proof that it has not flown by neglected and unheeded." -- C.H. Spurgeon . . . "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31, 32 . . . . .

The Victory of Faith

Oh bring us back once more
The vanished days of yore,
When the world with faith was filled!
Bring back the fervid zeal,
The hearts of fire and steel,
The hands that believe and build.

I Samuel 7

Oh, that Samuels by the score might be raised up to induce the Church of God to put away what grieves Him, with the assurance that when she has arrayed herself in the beautiful garments of humility and purity, God will deliver her out of the hands of the Philistines.

Because of the “urgent” status of the impending health care bill, and our governments insistence in passing it in a frenzied rush, I find myself cautioning and warning our readers to step back, slow down, know the facts and step up in making your voice count.

It is important for us to understand that this is a spiritual battle. This is not politics, this is not republican/democrat, this is a SPIRITUAL BATTLE and it is time for the Christian Church to wake up.

The overwhelming temptation to give in and give up can be completely suppressed and stamped out if we bathe our souls in the purifying waters of the Word of God, stand with faith in unwavering prayer. Dear Saints, we must wholly consecrate ourselves before Almighty God.

Wickedness is being forced upon all of mankind by powers in high places. The question is will we be faithful to stand in the day of adversity? Will we simply comply silently with wickedness while our government passes laws that make us partakers in the killing of human life? What about innocent babies and the elderly, who will protect them?

We must devote ourselves to prayer and fasting and complete consecration to God, for He is able to deliver us from such an evil.

If we as Christians do not stand for Righteousness, who will? It is our calling and responsibility.

Luke 18:8

“When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

I pray that He does.

As you are all aware, H.R. 3200 is the pending Health Care Reform Bill which is being steam-rolled through congress. As the house democrats threaten those in the opposition that they do not need their vote, nor care to negotiate, they will intentionally impose their will upon the American people, like it or not.

There are many reasons to oppose H.R. 3200, and in this article I will point out just a few but very alarming issues.

Yesterday like many of you, I received a phone call from the National Right to Life Organization.

Fact: Did you know that in this health care bill, every tax payer in America will be forced to pay for abortion. Your government would like you to pay for the murder of innocent human life.

Get the facts here: National Right To Life Fact Sheet - H.R. 3200

The law will also protect “freedom of choice” to abort even in the cases where the baby survives the procedure. Doctor’s will not be allowed to intervene and care for a live aborted baby, they will simply be set aside to die.

This is some of what you’ll be paying for:

Urgent Radio Review with Ron Meyers and Christian Wordview’s Brannon Howse: National Healthcare That Will Euthanize America's Seniors And The Disabled

Another reason to oppose H.R. 3200:

In an article titled, “Health Care: You May Get What You Don’t Pay For”
written by: Katharine DeBrecht, she warns us to step back and take a look at how citizens in foreign countries are faring under the state run “free” healthcare system.

She states: “While Congress and the Administration are scrambling to draft a catastrophic overhaul of our healthcare system, now more than ever is the time to step back and take a look at how citizens have fared in other countries under the guise of “free” healthcare.

Government-run healthcare systems in other countries are a painful example of how good intentions can produce dire results.

Canadian, British, and European government-run health systems delay and ration care for citizens, limit access to cutting-edge diagnostic services and medications, and result in poor quality medical care, all while costs skyrocket.

It is no secret that there are tragically long waiting periods for patients to receive treatment in Canada and Great Britain. According to the National Center for Policy Analysis, 827,429 Canadians are awaiting some type of procedure, while 1.8 million people in England await hospital admission or outpatient treatment. At one point, waiting periods were so bad in Canada, that in 2005 Canadian citizens, fed up with being prohibited by law from seeking private care, took the matter to the highest court in Canada.

The high court found in favor of the plaintiffs, stating: "The evidence in this case shows that delays in the public healthcare system are widespread, and that, in some serious cases, patients die as a result of waiting lists for public healthcare. The evidence also demonstrates that the prohibition against private health insurance and its consequence of denying people vital healthcare result in physical and psychological suffering that meets a threshold test of seriousness."

In an attempt to avoid long waiting periods in Great Britain, the National Health Service (NHS) instituted “targets” using a carrot and stick approach with hospitals that have further exacerbated the decline of quality healthcare for all Britons.

This month the Daily Telegraph reported that emergency room patients suspected of having cancer are forced to the back of the line. These sometimes critical emergency patients do not “count” towards the targets as do other cancer patients referred by GPs and are therefore subjected to longer and often painful waiting periods.

This past spring the Daily Telegraph cited a report by Britain’s Healthcare Commission regarding the conditions at Staffordshire hospitals where between 400 and 1200 more patients died than expected during a three year period. According to the Daily Telegraph the investigation found “overstretched and poorly trained nurses who turned off equipment because they did not know how to work it, newly qualified doctors left to care for patients recovering from surgery at night, patients left for hours in soiled bedclothes, reception staff expected to judge how seriousness of patients arriving at A&E (emergency rooms), patients left without food or drink, others who received the wrong medication or none at all, blood and faeces left on lavatories and floors, and doctors diverted away from seriously ill patients in order to treat minor ones who were in danger of breaching the four hour waiting time target.”

Another reasons to oppose H.R. 3200:

Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far.

New Penalties

Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541)

What penalties will deter your doctor from going beyond the electronically delivered protocols when your condition is atypical or you need an experimental treatment? The vagueness is intentional. In his book, Daschle proposed an appointed body with vast powers to make the “tough” decisions elected politicians won’t make.

The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.

In England anyone over 59 cannot receive heart repairs or Stents or bypass because it is not covered as being too expensive and not needed.

Elderly Hardest Hit

Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.

Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).

The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in Daschle’s book. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.

In 2006, a U.K. health board decreed that elderly patients with macular degeneration had to wait until they went blind in one eye before they could get a costly new drug to save the other eye. It took almost three years of public protests before the board reversed its decision.

Please note this: Senators and Congressmen have their own healthcare plan that is first dollar or very low co-pay which they are guaranteed the remainder of their lives and are not subject to this new law if it passes, the rest of America is.

Back to 1 Samuel 7. . .

Excerpts By: F.B. Meyer

The Convocation at Mizpeh

The movement to which we have referred at last demanded a public demonstration, and Samuel summoned all Israel to Mizpeh~which means watchtower, and is evidently a commanding summit that can still be identified in Central Palestine today.

The day was devoted to fasting. The people confessed their sins, afflicted their souls, and humbled themselves before God.

Water was brought from a neighboring well, and solemnly poured out before the Lord at the Feast of Tabernacles.

When the great festival had just about run its course, it was custom for the priests to go forth to the Spring of Siloam and bring the water in a golden vessel which was poured out at the foot of the altar at the hour of the morning sacrifice. The singers proclaimed in Isaiah’s words “With joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”

It is not until we pour forth from our full hearts floods of penitence and tears; and the desire by the heaviness of our grief to wash our land free from the accumulated evil of the past years; that we realize our helplessness and abandonment to God.

Samuel, as the representative of his countrymen, brought the whole nation back to true loyal allegiance to the God of their fathers.

Who shall induce the professing Church of God to put away the evil things by which her testimony is now impaired.

What would not be the blessed result if the children of God would come to another Mizpeh and confess, as Israel did, “We have sinned against the Lord!”

Saints, there is but one hope: God must arise to his people’s help or they will be trampled as the leaves of autumn beneath the heel of the conqueror.

What could timid sheep do against wolves? What could unarmed peasants do against such soldiers? How could the nation withstand against the bitter foes of our God?

“Cease not to cry unto the Lord our God for us,” the people said to Samuel, “that He will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.”

This is the only hope for our once Christian nation, America.

Euthanasia, Eugenics, Population Control……….call it what you like, but that’s exactly what it is and what it means.

Ecclesiastes 7:17

“Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?”

Are your government employees working for you? Yes I said YOUR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES, the members of Congress, the Senate and the Chief Executive Offices of the White House. I think in their minds it’s the other way around.

Before I get into this, I would like to say that these are not easy times, nor is the subject matter in this article an enjoyable one.

There are those of us who don’t want to confront these issues at all, and there are those of us who think it necessary.

I believe that it is necessary. Information enables a person to make intelligent decisions.

If someone were in danger of falling off a cliff, I would yell out to warn them. It is out of my love for God and care for you as our readers to warn you of a potential catastrophe and to direct us all to God’s Word for the answers.

Let’s discuss Section 1233 of Obama’s Health Care Bill, H.R. 3200.

The section, titled “Advanced Care Planning Consultation” REQUIRES senior citizens to meet at least every 5 years with a doctor or nurse practitioner to discuss “dying with dignity”, and every time your health may change.

I like to call this section “Planning Your Own Suicide”. Did I mention the words “REQUIRED” and “MANDATORY”?

This section REQUIRES that senior citizens talk to their doctor, not a lawyer, about living wills, and durable health care powers of attorney, hospice, etc.

Those of you who have parents in this age group, pay attention to this.

This is the government’s plan of “mercy” as they head towards euthanizing the elderly. Your government wants seniors to know that it is time to commit suicide in order to save the “National Health Care System” some money. How thoughtful!

Can you imagine those who have taken an oath to “DO NO HARM” encouraging you to die. Is this really the direction that we want to go in AMERICA?

Betsy McCaughey Interview On The Fred Thompson Radio Show

Let’s be honest, preserving life is not this party’s chief goal. The first priority of Obama’s agenda was the “Abortion Anything Goes” plan, now it’s the “let’s get rid of the elderly” agenda.

Teaching You To Die With Dignity

Euthanasia, Eugenics, Population Control……….call it what you like, but that’s exactly what it is and what it means.

Without a fundamental respect for life, the government will have no problem denying medical coverage to people the government deems expendable.

Their reasoning is why burden us the "tax payers" with keeping someone (only our family members) alive and on social security when their death will free up some cash.

How completely self-serving, nauseating, and wicked!

If this is what our elected officials really believe is in the best interest of our country, I say let them lead by example, let's say Ted Kennedy.

This is just one section in this massive government take over of human life. Knowing this much does not lead me to believe that the rest of the package is any better.

What does the Bible say? Does the Bible address suicide, Physician assisted suicide, Death, Mercy killing?

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;”

Ecclesiastes 7:17, “Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?”

1. Man is a body, soul and spirit.

I Thessalonians 5:23, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2. God owns the spirits of all flesh.

Numbers 16:22, “And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?”

1Corinthians 6:19, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"

3. God has appointed a time for all to die.

Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

4. Death is when the spirit leaves the body. This is an act of God.

Ecclesiastes 8:8, “There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.”

5. Euthanasia is the taking of a life before God’s time.

“Thou shalt not kill,” Exodus 20:13 and “Thou shalt do no murder,” Matthew 19:18.

6. Assisting a suicide is putting oneself in the place of God.

As we have seen, the taking of the spirit from the body is something done by God in His time. This is God’s business, not ours or a physicians.

7. What about pain?

Often those in favor of euthanasia use the words “mercy” and “compassion” as their argument.
The Scriptures authorize man to treat the pain but do not authorize taking the life of the dying.

Proverbs 31:6, “Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.” Today we have many drugs and painkillers that help relieve some pain as strong drink did in Solomon’s day.

8. Biblical accounts of suicide:
The Bible makes it clear suicide is wrong. We are nowhere in Scripture authorized to take our own lives.

Those of us who value life must pay close attention to the deception of "dying with dignity" that this administration and the news media would like to brainwash us with.

We must be ready to set the record straight every time media portray physician assisted suicide as an act of “compassion,” as they surely will in the dark days ahead.

"Looking For Someone To Blame? Congress Is Good Place To Start".

By: A.M. Kisly

The following article was originally published March 7, 1985 by Charley Reese a veteran journalist, formerly of the Orlando Post.

At the end of each calendar year, Reese wrote his annual 'conflict of interest' column, in which he disclosed his sources of income, his political affiliation and the organizations of which he was a dues paying member. He would also state his basic political philosophy and other core beliefs in addition to purpose of his columns. He stated that readers should have an idea where a columnist is coming from and where any potential conflicts of interest could arise, but to his knowledge he was the only columnist that carried out this practice.

Mr. Reese stated in one of his articles, "We would do better if, instead of being sheep and complacently accepting the words of politicians as edicts from God, we were like children who always ask that innocent question, "Why?"

Though I don't agree with all of Mr. Reese's political views, this article, in my opinion, is well worth the read.
On August 30, 2008, Charley Reese wrote his last column before retiring. He left his readers with the following statement: "My goal as a columnist has always been to stimulate and, if necessary, provoke people into thinking for themselves. If we fail to do that, a free society won't last. I wish you all a fond farewell."

So the point of posting this particular article is just that, to stimulate and provoke the reader into thinking for themselves.

Here's the article:

"The 545 People Responsible for America's Woes"

By: Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does..

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ.

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.

They and they alone, have the power..

They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
What you do with this article now that you have read it is up to you.

We know that the politicians are not the only ones to blame, but corruption seems to abound in our government system. Corruption abounds, because sin abounds. Throw away God's law and we reap the whirlwind of corruption.

Repentance must begin in the house of God. When God's people are walking righteously in His precepts, the life begins to bear fruit. A fruitful believer is then an effective witness to the lost and a powerful influence in this corrupt world.
A living testimony of the wonderful salvation of God has more influence over the hearts of man than any other influence on earth.

Can Eastern religious practices, New Age medicine/yogic practices be integrated with the Christian faith?

Why is it that the Church is so easily deceived?  Slap a Christian label on something, and just like that it becomes Christian?

I think a good read of the Old Testament would do a lot of the Church good.  It would certainly clarify the fact that God hates idolatry.  How many times did His people, the Jews, face judgment because of their disobedience to the Covenants with God.  How many times did they refuse Him and His word?  Idolatry and ALL of it's practices are evil in the sight of the Lord, and as believers, we need to take this seriously.

By: A.M. Kisly

Yesterday, several people sent me a news article posted by the New York Post. The contents just annoys me beyond words. Sometimes you just want to start knocking some heads together. But before I get into that story, the following must be said.

I’ll say it again. No human institution can take the place of God!

We must all make up our own minds as to where we draw the line. Do we protest and march at rallies? Do we picket at abortion clinics? Do parents send their children to public school knowing they will be taught how to be immoral? Do Christian students fall in line with the university’s “politically correct” policy? Do we stay silent for fear of retaliation of government leaders? Do we remain inactive as our Constitution and our rights are taken away before our eyes?

Where do we draw the line?

I believe that we cannot afford to stay silent in the face adversity or by the force of evilness. We must stand in the evil day. I believe that as Christians we must look beyond our own walls of self-preservation and be concerned about the future of mankind.

During the time of WWII as Hitler attempted to take the world by force, German Theologian, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, believed that the church had the obligation of “jamming the spokes of the wheel” so that the state might not be able to do its ghastly deeds without a struggle. He believed that even if the church should lose those battles, it was necessary that they be fought. We must not retreat into dishonorable silence, but advance proclaiming the truth and the message of the Gospel of Salvation. We must share the hope that is within us. We must stand for righteousness and speak out against everything that is contrary to the truth!

Taking a stand for what is true, for that which is right, what is good, what is just, and what is of God is our duty and privilege. It is honorable and right. Why would anyone think otherwise? It is not for our sakes alone, but for the sake of our families as well as future generations, should the Lord tarry.

“So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.” Galatians 6:10

By the way, Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed by the Nazi Black Guards on April 9th 1945, just days before the war ended.

In Erwin Lutzer’s book “Hitler’s Cross”, he talks about patriotism and civil disobedience. He states, “We must support our government, but we must be ready to criticize it or even defy it when necessary. Patriotism is commendable when it is for a just cause. Every nation has the right to defend itself, the right to expect the government to do what is best for its citizens.” A government of the people, by the people and for the people should do what is in our best interest and not of their own self interest. He adds that if the church in Germany during WWII taught us anything at all, it is the dangers of blind obedience to government.

“But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to every one who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” 1 Peter 3:15

Every believer must be able to give a rationale for his or her faith, defending the supremacy of Christ over all other alternatives.

Being a Christian is more than going to church, listening to messages, and singing hymns. The Bible says that if any man come after me, let him deny himself, pick up his cross and follow me. The cost of discipleship is the crucifixion of the flesh. There is no place for the philosophy of “self preservation”.

He who has an ear to hear…..listen up!

If we are to be effective in the public arena, our private relationship with God is where it begins. The only way to break down the barrier between the Christian faith and the rest of the human race is at the foot of the cross. The Cross where Jesus was crucified is where the hope that man is looking for can be found, and where the redemption that man needs is obtained. The cross of Jesus Christ stands above all philosophies, politics and the ways of man.

If Jesus was willing to go to the cross on our behalf…I’m wondering, how many are willing to go to the cross on behalf of others.

With that said, here’s the News Alert!

Obama’s quest to have complete power over the hearts and minds of the citizens of our nation continues to flabbergast me.

Last week we posted an article about Helen Thomas’s outburst in a press conference with the Whitehouse Press Secretary. Her claims that this administration seeks to have total control of the news media (or what is reported in the news) is just the tip of the iceberg.

It is my opinion that Obama would like to silence anyone who opposes him on any of the issues facing our system of democracy.

The following story was published in the New York Post on July 11, 2009 by Kyle Smith.

When it comes to the First Amendment, Team Obama believes in Global Chilling.
Cass Sunstein, a Harvard Law professor who has been appointed to a shadowy post that will grant him powers that are merely mind-boggling, explicitly supports using the courts to impose a "chilling effect" on speech that might hurt someone's feelings. He thinks that the bloggers have been rampaging out of control and that new laws need to be written to corral them.

Advance copies of Sunstein's new book, "On Rumors: How Falsehoods Spread, Why We Believe Them, What Can Be Done," have gone out to reviewers ahead of its September publication date, but considering the prominence with which Sunstein is about to be endowed, his worrying views are fair game now. Sunstein is President Obama's choice to head the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. It's the bland titles that should scare you the most.

"Although obscure," reported the Wall Street Journal, "the post wields outsize power. It oversees regulations throughout the government, from the Environmental Protection Agency to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Obama aides have said the job will be crucial as the new administration overhauls financial-services regulations, attempts to pass universal health care and tries to forge a new approach to controlling emissions of greenhouse gases."

Sunstein was appointed, no doubt, off the success of "Nudge," his previous book, which suggests that government ought to gently force people to be better human beings.

Czar is too mild a world for what Sunstein is about to become. How about "regulator in chief"? How about "lawgiver"? He is Obama's Obama.

In "On Rumors," Sunstein reviews how views get cemented in one camp even when people are presented with persuasive evidence to the contrary. He worries that we are headed for a future in which "people's beliefs are a product of social networks working as echo chambers in which false rumors spread like wildfire." That future, though, is already here, according to Sunstein. "We hardly need to imagine a world, however, in which people and institutions are being harmed by the rapid spread of damaging falsehoods via the Internet," he writes. "We live in that world. What might be done to reduce the harm?"

I can’t wait to see who decides what is a falsehood. I suspect anything that doesn’t go along with Obama’s or Sunstein’s view of the world.

“Sunstein questions the current libel standard - which requires proving "actual malice" against those who write about public figures, including celebrities. Mere "negligence" isn't libelous, but Sunstein wonders, "Is it so important to provide breathing space for damaging falsehoods about entertainers?" Celeb rags, get ready to hire more lawyers.

Sunstein also believes that - whether you're a blogger, The New York Times or a Web hosting service - you should be held responsible even for what your commenters say. Currently you're immune under section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. "Reasonable people," he says, "might object that this is not the right rule," though he admits that imposing liability for commenters on service providers would be "a considerable burden."

But who cares about a burden when insults are being bandied about? "A 'chilling effect' on those who would spread destructive falsehoods can be an excellent idea," he says.

"As we have seen," Sunstein writes, having shown us no such thing, "falsehoods can undermine democracy itself." What Sunstein means by that sentence is pretty clear: He doesn't like so-called false rumors about his longtime University of Chicago friend and colleague, Barack Obama.

He alludes on page 3 (and on page 13, and 14, and 45, and 54 - the book is only 87 pages) to the supposedly insidious lie that "Barack Obama pals around with terrorists." Since Sunstein intends to impose his Big Chill on such talk, I'd better get this in while I can. The "rumor," i.e., "fact," about the palsy-walsiness of Obama and unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers (Ayers referred to Obama as a "family friend" in a memoir) did not "undermine democracy," i.e., prevent Obama's election. The facts got out, voters weighed them and ruled that they weren't disqualifying.”

Disheartening to say the least that anyone would overlook his past record, but I’ll go a bit further and add this about his background, that Obama has been a Communist ever since his high school days in Hawaii. He dropped his official enrollment in the various Communist parties to join the Democrat party when he ran for state government, but has maintained close ties with the Communist party.

Obama stated that a mentor to him in Hawaii was Frank Marshall Davis, who was a card carrying member of the old Communist Party USA.

He writes in his book that when he was 'confused', he would seek out communist rallies with Marxist speakers. While at Columbia, he met Bill Ayers, who was a prominent Communist, and befriended Edward Said, who was the President of Columbia's Communist Party.

The Obama campaign has hired many former communists, and the ones that have been exposed have been fired or quit. For example, Obama's Muslim outreach coordinator, Mazen Asbahi.

Obama's health care, tax, welfare, spending, and foreign relations policies have all started at highly communist points. During the primary, and final campaigns, he tempered his policies to address all criticisms, but 'off camera' moments have revealed that Obama still very much intends to carry through with his original, highly socialist and communist plans. In fact he has proven this in his actions in what is now only six months in the oval office.

“Sunstein calls for a "notice and take down" law that would require bloggers and service providers to "take down falsehoods upon notice," even those made by commenters - but without apparent penalty.

Consider how well this nudge would work. You blog about Obama-Ayers. You get a letter claiming that your facts are wrong so you should remove your post. You refuse. If, after a court proceeding proves simply that you are wrong (but not that you committed libel, which when a public figure is the target is almost impossible), you lose, the penalty is . . . you must take down your post.

How long would it take for a court to sort out the truth? Sasha and Malia will be running for president by then. Nobody will care anymore. But it will give politicians the ability to tie up their online critics in court.

Sunstein, trying to fair, argues that libel awards should be capped at $15,000, or at least limited for anyone demonstrating financial hardship. But $15K is the limit you'd pay to your opponent. The legal bill is the scary part, and the reason bloggers already have plenty of reason to be careful about what they say, even if they don't much fear a libel conviction.

Sunstein dreams of an impossibly virtuous America: "We could also imagine a future in which those who spread false rumors are categorized as such, discounted and marginalized . . . people would approach rumors skeptically even they provide comfort and fit their own biases." But if his chilling wind doesn't work, Sunstein may try to make good on the implicit threat that runs through his book: that he would redefine libel as the spread of false information and hold everyone up the ladder responsible.

If this happened, the blogosphere would turn into Pluto overnight. Comments sections would slam shut. Every writer would work on a leash shorter than a shoelace.
Sunstein is an enemy to every news organization and blogger. We should return the favor and declare war on him.”

Remember Hitler promised the removal of all democratic ways of thought. He sought to be a “leader state” not a republic.

I said this at the start, I’ll say it again,

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord...Psalm 33:12a

We must all make up our own minds as to where we draw the line. We must all stand for something, choose you this day whom you will serve, the world…..or God’s Son!

After much consideration, I have decided to post the following video, "We The People".

You may or may not agree with the contents of this video. You might find some portions offensive. It is however a good example of a "do something" mentality, and not a continuation of the same "do nothing" mentality that has been embraced by today's society.

It is thought provoking to say the least. I pray that it instills courage and squelches cowardice, that it imparts thoughtful consideration as we exchange inaction for action.

By: A.M. Kisly

It seems my last blog ruffled some feathers. If the truth offends, then so be it…but I would like to clarify my point to the reader.
To you who hail the New World Order as the One True Religion…you need to consider the following.

Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31 Luke 21:33

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Matthew 8:36

Our ministry at TTUF is set as a watchman to warn your souls, and if we warn you not aright, your blood will be laid at upon our door!

God save any one of his ministers from being found guilty of the souls of men. They are to preach Salvation to those who are lost and are in danger of the wrath of God. Every preacher of the gospel may cry with David, "Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation."

Think, O careless hearers, that God's church does not consider salvation to be a little matter? Earnest men and women, by thousands, are praying day and night for the salvation of others, and are laboring too, and making great sacrifices, and are willing to make many more, if they may by any means bring some to Jesus and his salvation. Surely, if gracious men, and wise men, think salvation to be so important, you who have neglected it ought to change your minds upon the matter, and act with greater care for your own interests. C.H. Spurgeon

We cannot save ourselves, we cannot save our world, we cannot ever have true unity and peace and prosperity simply because mankind is fallen in sin. Our hearts are desperately wicked, even at our best we have fallen short and are found wanting.
Corruption abounds because sin abounds. Man must be changed by a regeneration of his spirit. Born-again of the Spirit of the living God.

This is the love of God….Ephesians 2:4-10
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

The following sermon was given by C.H. Spurgeon, and I hope that all of our readers will consider the importance of it’s message.

(Part 1)

Salvation! a great word, not always understood, often narrowed down, and its very marrow overlooked. Salvation! This concerns every living person on the face of the earth. We all fell in our first parent (Adam); we have all sinned personally; we shall all perish unless we find salvation.
The word salvation contains within it deliverance from the guilt of our past sins. We have broken God's law each one of us, more or less flagrantly; we have all wandered the downward road, though each has chosen a different way. Salvation brings to us the blotting out of the transgressions of the past, acquital from criminality, purging from all guiltiness, that we may stand accepted before the great Judge.
What man in his sober senses will deny that forgiveness is an unspeakably desirable blessing!
But salvation means more than that: it includes deliverance from the power of sin. Naturally we are all fond of evil, and we run after it greedily; we are the bondslaves of iniquity, and we love the bondage. This last is the worst feature of the case. But when salvation comes it delivers the man from the power of sin. He learns that it is evil, and he regards it as such, loathes it, repents that he has ever been in love with it, turns his back upon it, becomes, through God's Spirit, the master of his lusts, puts the flesh beneath his feet, and rises into the liberty of the children of God.
Alas! there are many who do not care for this: if this be salvation they would not give a farthing for it. They love their sins; they rejoice to follow the devices and imaginations of their own corrupt hearts. Yet be assured, this emancipation from bad habits, unclean desires, and carnal passions is the main point in salvation, and if it be not ours, salvation in its other branches is not and cannot be enjoyed by us.
Dear hearer, do you possess salvation from sin? Have you escaped the corruption which is in the world through lust? If not, what have you to do with salvation? To any right-minded man deliverance from unholy principles is regarded as the greatest of all blessings. What do you think of it?
Salvation includes deliverance from the present wrath of God which abides upon the unsaved man every moment of his life. Every person who is unforgiven is the object of divine wrath. "God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, he will whet his sword." "Be that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
I frequently hear the statement that this is a state of probation. This is a great mistake, for our probation has long since passed. Sinners have been proved, and found to be unworthy; they have been "weighed in the balances," and "found wanting." If you have not believed in Jesus, condemnation already rests upon you: you are reprieved awhile, but your condemnation is recorded.
Salvation takes a man from under the cloud of divine wrath, and reveals to him the divine love. We can then say, "O God, I will praise thee, though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortest me." Oh, it is not hell hereafter which is the only thing a sinner has to fear, it is the wrath of God which rests upon him now.
To be unreconciled to God now is an awful thing: to have God's arrow pointed at you as it is at this moment, even though it fly not from the string as yet, is a terrible thing. It is enough to make you tremble from head to foot when you learn that you are the target of Jehovah's wrath: "he hath bent his bow, and made it ready." Every soul that is unreconciled to God by the blood of his Son is in the gall of bitterness. Salvation at once sets us free from this state of danger and alienation. We are no longer the "children of wrath, even as others," but are made children of God and joint heirs with a Christ Jesus.

What can be conceived more precious than this?
And then, we lastly receive that part of salvation which ignorant persons put first, and make to be the whole of salvation. In consequence of our being delivered from the guilt of sin, and from the power of sin, and from the present wrath of God, we are delivered from the future wrath of God. Unto the uttermost will that wrath descend upon the souls of men when they leave the body and stand before their Maker's bar, if they depart this life unsaved.
To die without salvation is to enter into damnation. Where death leaves us there judgment finds us; and where judgment finds us eternity will hold Us forever and ever. "He which is filthy, let him be filthy still," and he that is wretched as a punishment for being filthy, shall be hopelessly wretched still.
Salvation delivers the soul from going down into the pit of hell. We, being justified, are no longer liable to punishment, because we are no longer chargeable with guilt. Christ Jesus bore the wrath of God that we might never bear it. He has made a full atonement to the justice of God for the sins of all believers. Against him that believeth there remaineth no record of guilt; his transgressions are blotted out, for a Christ Jesus hath finished transgression, made an end of sin, and brought in everlasting righteousness.
What a comprehensive word then is this—"salvation"! It is a triumphant deliverance from the guilt of sin, from the dominion of it, from the curse of it, from the punishment of it, and ultimately from the very existence of it.

Salvation is the death of sin, its burial, its annihilation, yea, and the very obliteration of its memory; for thus saith the Lord: "their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

Beloved hearers, I pray you give earnest heed to this most pressing of all subjects. If these words cannot command your fullest attention, I could wish to be dumb, that some other pleader might with wiser speech draw you to a close consideration of this matter.
Salvation appears to me to be of the first importance, when I think of what it is in itself, and for this reason I have at the outset set it forth before your eyes; but you may be helped to remember its value if you consider that God the Father thinks highly of salvation. It was on his mind or ever the earth was. He thinks salvation a lofty business, for he gave his Son that he might save rebellious sinners. Jesus Christ, the only Begotten, thinks salvation most important, for he bled, he died to accomplish it. Shall I bide with that which cost him his life? If he came from heaven to earth, shall I be slow to look from earth to heaven? Shall that which cost the Savior a life of zeal, and a death of agony, be of small account with you?
By the bloody sweat of Gethsemane, by the wounds of Calvary, I beseech you, be assured that salvation must be worthy of your highest and most anxious thoughts. It could not be that God the Father, and God the Son, should thus make a common sacrifice: the one giving his Son and the other giving himself for salvation, and yet salvation should be a light and trivial thing.
The Holy Ghost thinks it no trifle, for he condescends to work continually in the new creation that he may bring about salvation. He is often vexed and grieved, yet he continues still his abiding labors that he may bring many sons unto glory. Despise not what the Holy Ghost esteems, lest thou despise the Holy Ghost himself. The sacred Trinity think much of salvation; let us not neglect it.
I beseech you who have gone on trifling with salvation, to remember that we who have to preach to you dare not trifle with it. The longer I live the more I feel that if God do not make me faithful as a minister, it had been better for me never to have been bow.

The angels think it a weighty business. Bowing from their thrones, they watch for repenting sinners; and when they hear that a sinner has returned to his God, they waken anew their golden harps and pour forth fresh music before the throne, for "there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."

It is certain also that devils think salvation to be a great matter, for their arch-leader goeth about seeking whom he may devour. They never tire in seeking men's destruction. They know how much salvation glorifies God, and how terrible the ruin of souls is; and therefore they compass sea and land, if they may destroy the sons of men. Oh, I pray you, careless hearer, be wise enough to dread that fate which your cruel enemy, the devil, would fain secure for you!

Remember, too, that lost souls think salvation important. The rich man, when he was in this world, thought highly of nothing but his barns, and the housing of his produce; but when he came into the place of torment, then he said: "Father Abraham, send Lazarus to my father's house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also they come into this place of torment." Lost souls see things in another light than that which dazzled them here below; they value things at a different rate from what we do here, where sinful pleasures and earthly treasures dim the mental eye. I pray you then, by the blessed Trinity, by the tears and prayers of holy men, by the joy of angels and glorified spirits, by the malice of devils and the despair of the lost, arouse yourselves from slumber, and neglect not this great salvation!

I shall not depreciate anything that concerns your welfare, but I shall steadfastly assert that nothing so much concerns any one of you as salvation. Your health by all means. Let the physician be fetched if you be sick; care well for diet and exercise, and all sanitary laws. Look wisely to your constitution and its peculiarities; but what matters it, after all, to have possessed a healthy body, if you have a perishing soul?

Wealth, yes, if you must have it, though you shall find it an empty thing if you set your heart upon it. Prosperity in this world, earn it if you can do so fairly, but "what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" A golden coffin will be a poor compensation for a damned soul. To be cast away from God's presence, can that misery be assuaged by mountains of treasure? Can the bitterness of the second death be sweetened by the thought that the wretch was once a millionaire, and that his wealth could affect the polities of nations?

No, there is nothing in health or wealth comparable to salvation. Nor can honor and reputation bear a comparison therewith. Truly they are but baubles, and yet for all that they have a strange fascination for the soul of men.
Oh, sirs, if every harpstring in the world should resound your glories, and every trumpet should proclaim your fame, what would it matter if a louder voice should say, "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels"?

Salvation! salvation! SALVATION! Nothing on earth can match it, for the merchandise of it is better than silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. The possession of the whole universe would be no equivalent to a lost soul for the awful damage it has sustained and must sustain for ever. Pile up the worlds, and let them fill the balance: ay, bring as many worlds as there are stars, and heap up the scale on the one side; then in this other scale place a single soul endowed with immortality, and it outweighs the whole. Salvation! nothing can be likened unto it. May we feel its unutterable value, and therefore seek it till we possess it in its fullness! C.H. Spurgeon

Dear Friend, God who created you, loves you and has provided a gift that is more priceless than gold or silver, more precious than fine jewels and more worthy than any great work. The good news is that it's free. The price has been paid in full and He's offering this gift of salvation to you.

It's up to you, your choice. I pray that you will search for the Truth, that God will reveal Himself to you and that you will receive salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

By A.M. Kisly

At the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America which took place at the Washington convention Center Saturday night, the Washington Times reported that Rick Warren spoke to an audience of 8,000 Muslim listeners. His message was…to work together to solve the world’s greatest problems by cooperating in a series of ‘interfaith’ projects.

Warren pleaded with the audience that, “Muslims and Christians can work together for the common good without compromising my convictions or your convictions.” Where is this message in the whole of the scriptures?

Warren also stated, “I am not interested in interfaith dialogue but interfaith projects,”
(Not interested in the commission that God called him to?) “Talk is cheap…but love is something we do together” (Mr. Warren apparently doesn’t comprehend what love is…This is love, that while we were yet in our sin, Jesus Christ died for us.) “As the two largest faiths on this planet – more than 1 billion Muslims and 2 billion Christians – we must believe in this…we must do something to model what it is to live in peace, to live in harmony. (Doesn't the Bible teach that there will never be peace in this world until the Prince of Peace, that is Jesus Christ comes back to rid the earth of sin and satan and rule from His throne? Heaven and earth shall pass away....behold a new heaven and a new earth....His Word will remain forever.)

Saving the world...unity and peace...working together...all sounds good right?

I’m beginning to wonder if those who claim to be a ‘Believer’ really believe. I’m also wondering why so many so-called Believers don’t seem to care what God thinks about these ideas, nor do they care to search the Scriptures themselves for truth about these matters. Do we love God? Do we have the love for His truth? Do we love His Word? Do we read it like a bathroom reader or do we study to show ourselves approved unto God…?”

Dear Christian Brothers and Sisters, Our ways are not higher than Gods ways, nor are our thoughts higher than God’s thoughts…surely Mr. Warren isn’t exalting himself above the Lord, or is he?

As a pastor, Mr. Warren is called to preach the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Here again we have witnessed a complete failure of another church leader to do so.

The Bible says in Matthew 26:11 that the “worlds greatest problems’ as Mr. Warren puts it, will always be with us, read it.

The Bible says that sin is the root of the problem, man is lost and doomed to eternity separated from the God that created him unless he or she comes to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Mr. Warren is more concerned about “ecumenical unity” and solving the world’s social problems than having an open dialogue about the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I couldn’t be more dumbfounded.

His opportunity to reach Muslims for Christ is wasted, squandered away, leading 8,000 lost souls to believe and trust in the vain words of man. He has given them absolutely nothing; No Hope, No Salvation Message, No Good News, No Eternal Future, instead he has led them down a path to destruction.

Mr. Warren is accountable to God for this appalling speech…and my personal view is that he has disqualified himself as a pastor of the flock of God.

Friends in Christ please do not buy into the idea that we can save the world…the only hope for this world is Jesus Christ and Him alone.

Christian believers need to stop checking their brains at the door and buying into every deceptive ploy of the devil. These strange doctrines of men will lead us away from the truth and away from God.

The time is late and the time is now to put away childish things and get serious about our relationship with the Lord. Believe not every vain word of man or every wind of doctrine that blows through the Christian church, we must put our hope and our trust in God and His Word.

If you want to know what the good and acceptable will of God is, read His word. He left us His Word that we might know the truth and that the Truth would set us free. He left us the Holy Spirit to teach us, to comfort us, and to draw us to him so that we might have discernment over spiritual matters.

Draw nigh unto God and he will draw nigh unto you….

Jan Markell of Olive Tree Ministries wrote an open letter to Rick Warren, I hope that you will read it.

The only gospel that will save America is the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!I had intended to post a special blog for our Independence Day celebration, but for some reason every time I attempted to save the article that I was working on, my computer would lock up and crash. It took me a while, but after re-writing the entire article four times and without success, I remembered that the servant of the Lord does not strive.

Sometimes the Lord just wants us to stop, to put aside what we are doing that He may refocus our attention and our hearts on Him, and that’s exactly what I did.

The TRUTH UNDER FIRE is a ministry that many times deals with really heavy issues. Exposing the blatant, or the subtle wiles of the devil, whether they are through political, spiritual, or church events is important and goes without apology on our part. However, as we filter these articles through the lens of Scripture, we don’t want to leave our readers overwhelmed and without hope.

Our hope is in Christ alone. For without Him we can do NOTHING!

Jesus did not say that he was one of many ways, or one of many truths. He claimed to be the only way, the only truth and the only life. For He is the only way to life everlasting; and He is the only divine truth.

There is nothing on this earth that can change this. There is only one way to God and that is through His Son Jesus Christ.

As multitudes listen to those who claim to have all of the answers to the countless problems facing America, they are faced with making a decision of trust and blind faith in a failing system. How is there hope in that? To be forced to believe in the vain words of men and in many instances liars is a fate worse than death.

Our ways are failing us simply because we have left God out! We cannot fix the gigantic problems of our economy or the moral decay of our society without facing the real truth of the problem. We must admit that the failure we face as a nation is our responsibility and ours alone. We alone are to blame for all that has happened to us. We have blasphemed against the Holy Spirit of God, and have lived according to our own lusts, our own pleasures, and our own will, not unlike Lucifer when He exalted his will above the LORD. We are in this mess because we have not followed the will of God.

Well, sin has a way of catching up to us sooner or later. We have sown to the flesh and will reap the whirlwind of God’s wrath.

WAIT! DON’T HANG YOUR HEAD AND RUN NOW…even with all that said there is still HOPE! Why so downcast oh my soul? Put your hope in God!

Jesus did not leave us alone. He did not say, Well I’ve got to go now, fend for yourselves. He said that He is going to prepare a place for us! Hooray! Rejoice Christian!

He said that He will come back and get us! Hooray! Rejoice Christian!

He said that He will never leave us or forsake us! Hooray! Again, I say rejoice Christian!

He left us His Word. He left us His Holy Spirit and through Him we can know His voice, we can hear His voice, and we can be led by His Spirit into all truth. He will teach us; He can change us; He will fill us; and He will strengthen us until He comes back for us!

He is our advocate with the Father. He is our High Priest. He is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.

Are you lost? He is the Way!

Are you tired of being lied to and don’t know who to believe? He is the TRUTH!

Are you afraid for your life? Take His…He is the Life.

The decision is ours and ours alone. We can be led down a road that leads to destruction or we can turn back to the Lord. This decision must happen individually before it can happen as a nation.

It is as though all blessing, hope, mercy and goodness were placed by divine will in a room into which there is but one entrance. There is no way to obtain these blessings except to enter therein through that door. Truly Jesus is that door, and the center of our hope. He is our only hope.

Romans 1:16—For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

The only gospel that will save America is the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior!

Dear Reader, TTUF will continue to write articles dealing with tough subjects, but our balance is, and always will be the Lord, and all that His Word teaches and reveals to us throughout every situation in our lives.

Draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to you. Stay in the Word of God, so that you will not be deceived by the wiles of the devil. Pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for us.

He alone is our Help!
He alone is our Deliverer!

He alone is our Savior!

He alone is our Shield!

He alone is our Mighty Fortress!

He alone is our Refuge!

He alone is our Peace!

He alone is our Hope!

He alone is our Trust!

He alone is our Faith!

He alone is our All in All!

He is our God who is worthy of all of our praise. To Him be all glory and honor an
d praise, Amen.
