"We see, in many a land, the proudest dynasties and tyrannies still crushing, with their mountain weight, every free motion of the Consciences and hearts of men. We see, on the other hand, the truest heroism for the right and the greatest devotion to the Truth in hearts that God has touched. We have a work to do, as great as our forefathers and, perhaps, far greater. The enemies of Truth are more numerous and subtle than ever and the needs of the Church are greater than at any preceding time. If we are not debtors to the present, then men were never debtors to their age and their time. Brethren, we are debtors to the hour in which we live. Oh, that we might stamp it with Truth and that God might help us to impress upon its wings some proof that it has not flown by neglected and unheeded." -- C.H. Spurgeon . . . WALKING The COVENANT WAY: PART 3 of 8: the NOAHIC Covenant

~ by James Fire

By way of review from the article, 1 of 8, we have the following:

The Noahic Covenant was an unconditional covenant between God and Noah (specifically; GEN 6:18) and humanity (generally; GEN 9:9-17). After the Flood, God promised humanity that He would never again destroy all life on earth with a Flood (see GEN 9).
God gave the rainbow as the sign of the covenant, a promise that the entire earth would never again be flooded on a global scale; it also served as a reminder that God can and will judge sin (2 PETER 2:5).

A Suzerainty (a sovereign ruler, overseer) covenant: When the parties are not equal
the b’rith may become a disposition (1 SAM 11:1; EZEK 17:13-14) or guaranteed (JOSH 9:6,15; HOS 12:1) by the superior party. Often in Scripture there is the presentation of this frequent lack of two-sidedness. On the one side there are words like “to establish, to command, a statute” associated with the initiator and for the other, that is the beneficiary “to obey or to transgress it” (JOSH 23:16; JER 34:10).

B’rith often describes the legal relationship between GOD the LORD and man the servant. This is a sovereignly imposed injunction from GOD, legally binding according to His pleasure. Divine suzerainty covenants also involve redemptive, promissory elements…

Two b’rith found in JER 33:20,25 wherein GOD’s ordering of “day and night” is established and ZECH 11:10 regarding GOD’s breaking His b’rith with the people [of Israel], suggesting that GOD used to order the world history in favor of Israel (DEUT 32:8), but has now freed all peoples from such covenant obligation.*
*The LORD has opened the door for all people to be saved from the coming Judgment of GOD (ACTS 15:30; 10:34-35), via the New Testament in Christ, however it is the express view of TTUF that GOD’s covenants with Israel are by no means abrogated or annulled as some might suspect that the above text is insinuating. The Abrahamic, Davidic and New Covenant are all based upon the promise of GOD, the recipients (Israel for the first two, and Israel and the Gentiles for the last) only need to believe GOD’s promise by faith and the LORD will honor His covenants!
Then there is the situation that concerns GOD’s pre-redemptive arrangement with Adam, a b’rith (HOS 6:7) and it’s not inaptly styled “the covenant of works”. For though Eden exhibits no partnership of equals, and no voluntary mutual agreement was reached prior to GOD’s sovereign disposition, there yet existed a certain balance of obligations and benefits that were equally binding upon the two parties concerned. Never again has history witnessed such a situation with the exception of the life of the man Christ Jesus who was [is] the representative “last Adam” and who fulfilled all righteousness (1 COR 15:45).

~ SECTION ONE

In the antediluvian era (pre-Flood) things were quite different than they are now. For example, the topography – mountains in those days were not likely as tall as they are now. It would also seem for specific reasons that the land masses were interconnected. Weather was also rather different than today. In the scant few chapters we don’t witness extremes in climate (parched deserts or frigid artic landscapes) and there was no such thing as rain then either (GEN 2:6).

Yet what’s most bizarre in the extreme were the goings on at the Tower of Babel (“Babel” means, “gateway to the gods”) and those events that surrounded this era wherein Nimrod was essentially the first world ruler (and also the one who opposed GOD, and therefore a type of antichrist), as well as the time period immediately preceding this era.

Fallen angels not only cohabitated with human females, taking on a physical form (having left their “first estate”; JUDE 1:6); not only were they somehow able to procreate a hybrid species identified in the English as “giants” but more precisely in the Hebrew, nephilim (from the root word nephal, meaning “fallen ones”.), but they were possibly able to affect life on Earth in regards to the animal kingdom, and perhaps even the planet itself.

Not only was the human race in danger of being polluted on a global scale, but such tales of antiquity which speak of various sort of chimeras, blending of different animals in multitudinous combinations, is purportedly evidence of perverting GOD’s creation: a definite MO of Satan’s..

If Satan could achieve worldwide corruption of the human race, then the promised “seed of the woman” could not be born into such a perversion and Satan would have thwarted GOD’s plan to destroy him.

Further, if he could produce a seed himself, the very “god of this world” (2 COR 4:4) conceiving a nephilim that would literally, physiologically be the seed of the serpent (there are some who suggest that Nimrod himself could have been a nephilim) then he could ensure his rule over the world with no rivalry from the promised seed of GEN 3:15.
Details on this are not the focus of this study but if you want to learn more about this, check out the presentation by Dr. Chuck Missler as seen below (Return of the Nephilim).

That brings us to Noah, and GOD’s estimation of his man:

GENESIS 6:1-9
1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. 3 And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." 4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them." 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations.

Noah walked with God.

The word for “genealogy” can refer to “generations, the family descent”, whereas “generations” in the latter half of this verse comes from an entirely different Hebrew word, dor, and this refers specifically to a revolution of time, an age, a generation.

Many scholars (those who disagree with the Sethite view of this passage, which I also disagree with) believe that it was because Noah had no “nephilim blood” in his family tree, that he and his family were carefully preserved from such corruption.

The word “perfect” in this verse is from the Hebrew word tamiym, meaning “without blemish, without spot, sincerely sound, undefiled” which, given the nature of this infestation of corruption could very well refer to Noah’s physical state as well as his spiritual condition.

Understanding that these are Levitical terms: “spot”, “blemish”, “sound” that refer to the inspection of sacrificial candidates of various animals, no such moral considerations are placed upon these. Thus tamiym in the general sense, refers to a physical purity.
The fact that Noah was a godly man, and had a godly influence in his family, this is what protected him from the ungodliness of his day, promoted – enforced in fact, by these fallen angels!

His uprightness of heart is clearly demonstrated in the verse, “…and Noah walked with GOD” and also: “Noah did according to all that GOD commanded him, so did he” (GEN 6:22).

GOD places Noah in a very select category of godly men (himself, Daniel, and Job), and declared that even if these three were in the land of rebellious Israel, still He would judge the nation (but that they would only deliver themselves; EZEK 14:14).

It’s quite curious that just as Noah was clean (as not being “unclean”), humanity was unclean because of their interaction with these fallen angels, resulting in these nephilim, but that if in fact the disembodied nephilim (who all died in the Flood) could be identified as the demons of the New Testament, also known as “unclean spirits”, this would connect the dots, making sense of why spirits should be so described.

It's plain for all who read that it was the wickedness of man that brought the Flood:

GENESIS 6:5
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Yet I believe it was also this unholy union between these fallen angels cohabitating “with the daughters of Adam”.

What’s even more sobering is the fact that claims of “alien abductions” appear to be on the rise, which includes the harvesting of semen, eggs, and cellular tissues from their abductees – only sometime later to be presented with humanoid oddities with unusually large, dark eyes and slight frames (nephilim). If these are actually fallen angels posing as our “space brothers”, then we are seeing The Return of the Nephilim, but to what purpose?

THE RETURN Of The NEPHILIM

As it stands, Satan’s military is disadvantaged: he suffers a 2 to 1 odds against his favor (only one third of the angels conspired and rebelled with him against GOD; REV 12:4). Could his industry of iniquity in producing more nephilim be his way of evening up the odds?

In any event, the words of our LORD seem to carry an even deeper meaning than what I previously supposed:
MATTHEW 24:37
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
GENESIS 6:12 states that “all flesh had corrupted its way upon the Earth”; where it states, “all flesh”, the question in my mind is – “all flesh? As in both human and animal?”
The word “corrupted” is shachath in Hebrew, meaning, “to cast off, corrupt, destroy, to mar, spoil, waste, battered”.

So the LORD was intent on His judgment of rebellious man, but also with the cleansing of the race, ensuring no interference by Satan to pollute the Messianic line through which the LORD Jesus would come.

Hence, the building of the Ark, the preaching of coming Judgment, the end of global rebellion, the containment and proliferation of Noah’s descendants and the plan of GOD further revealed in subsequent covenants and later generations!

So we are all sons of Adam through Noah, but not all the sons of Adam were represented on the Ark. One observation about “the godly line of Seth” and what I deem to be the spurious Sethite view; if they were so godly, why weren’t they on the Ark?

Again, time doesn’t permit us in exploring the fascinating subject of the ark, the gathering of animals, and their astounding voyage through the Flood, but here are some excellent resources for your consideration, as we move on to address the Noahic Covenant:

One thing I do want to address however:
Noah was faithful to build the ark exactly as GOD instructed in its dimensions (450’ long x 75’ wide x 45’ high; such a ratio ensures maximum buoyancy), and in its materials*

*Gopher wood (many assume this is actually a type of cedar or possibly cypress, but the translation of the Hebrew word for “gopher” is uncertain; there is reason to believe however that it was some type of hard wood especially resilient against water damage or even seepage.

Also, pitch inside and out (an oil based product that would make the vessel waterproof) were precisely what would be optimum for the purpose of this biblical barge. The Hebrew word used for pitch is kopher, which can mean exactly that, but it can also mean “atonement”.

This makes the ark a perfect type of Christ, He Who saved us from “the sea of sin” and in whom we are placed, preserving us from the coming Judgment!
Likewise, consider that there was only one door into the ark; Christ is the only Name given whereby we must be saved (ACTS 4:12). A fascinating study about thresholds (as in doorways) that connects to the idea of a covenant is one that I’m taking the time to investigate; I haven't come to any definitive conclusions as of yet.

Consider that Christ refers to Himself as “the door” (JOHN 10:7).
By crossing the threshold of the ark, Noah and family were entering into this Noahic covenant along with all the promises by GOD to keep them!

Note that one of Noah’s sons is Shem, the father of the Semitic ethnicities, including the Jews; so in a Levitical sense, Abraham was in Noah just as Levi was in Abraham (HEB 7:5).

This arrangement mirrors last days eschatology very well: the faithful remnant of the Jews (amounting to about 1/3 of the nation; ZECH 13:8) who will come to saving faith in Christ, will be carefully preserved from the wrath of the LAMB (ISA 26:20; ROM 11:25-26) at Petra (aka Bozrah; ISA 34:1-8; 63:1-19).

There was one person who survived the Flood that was not on the ark; and who is this person? Enoch (a Gentile, of course), who was translated because “GOD took him”, without seeing death (HEB 11:5; GEN 5:24). In this type, Enoch makes a perfect type of the (mostly) Gentile church, taken up before the judgment of Christ begins on the Earth with the opening of the First Seal.

~ SECTION TWO

GENESIS 7:1
Then the LORD said to Noah, Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

Just as the LORD made a covenant with Abraham, inviting him into this agreement, in the same sense, this is the covenant He is making with Noah by saying – not “go into the ark” but, “come into the ark”. The LORD was in it and invited His chosen via b’rith to join Him in this covenant! Awesome!

This six hundred year old man (GEN 7:6) witnessed the destruction of the world by this incredible Flood, not only with this strange phenomenon of water pouring down from the skies (rain), but also subterranean geysers “the fountains of the deep” that erupted all over the world (GEN 7:11)!

It’s quite possible that this wasn’t just a torrential downpour of rain; the “firmament” above the heavens as created in GEN 1:7 were broken forth or loosed (Hebrew word pathach) during the Flood and pummeled the planet with its incalculably vast reservoirs of water.

This undoing of Earth’s natural shielding (“firmament”) would allow the radiation from the sun that would normally be prevented from affecting mankind, would begin to deteriorate our cellular structure, thus the sudden shortening of people’s lifespans.

This global deluge lasted for a full forty days (GEN 7:4; I believe this literally) after an initial seven days of Noah, his family and the animals stay in the ark (perhaps to get everyone and everything settled in?).

“And all flesh died…” (GEN 7:21). If the animal kingdom itself was perverted and marred by evil angels, it would stand to reason that these were destroyed while those on the ark were preserved.

After those forty days of rain, the Flood waters remained for one hundred and fifty days (GEN 7:24).

“Then GOD remembered Noah…” (GEN 8:1); how could He have forgotten? What this is saying is that GOD remembered His promise to Noah, His holy covenant, that He would keep this godly man, his family, and the animals safe, and so He subdued the waters on the Earth and stopped up the fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven (vs. 2).

The ark settled on Mount Ararat, but the waters were still in process of recession all the way until the tenth month when mountain peaks began to appear on the horizon (vs. 5).

Noah left the ark on the seventeenth day of the first (ceremonial) month of Israel, and this is the same month and day that Christ resurrected from the dead! Noah was introduced to a new world, a new life, and so are we who come to the Risen Christ for our own salvation!

The first thing that Noah did upon exiting the ark was to build an altar, and sacrifice offerings to the LORD (vs. 20).

Then we come to GENESIS 9:

In a sense, this chapter is a do-over of GEN 1:22, 28; GOD told Adam and Eve to “be fruitful and multiply” and here the LORD is saying the same thing to Noah and his family (vs. 1). The human race was preserved of the taint of Satan who wanted to corrupt us. Yet he didn’t abandon this evil enterprise altogether.

Remember in GENESIS 6:4
There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward

In an effort to thwart Israel’s conquest of Canaan, Satan directed more of his evil entourage to interfere with the human genome and more nephilim and others of the sort were brought forth: King Og, Sihon and Goliath as a few examples. This is one of the primary reasons why the LORD commanded Israel to slay “every man, woman and child” in Canaan land, because their lineages were polluted in just this way.

And if we are reading DANIEL 2 correctly, we haven’t seen the last of these antichrist antics!

GENESIS 9:2
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand.

Apparently animals were far less timid around humankind prior to the Flood; the immediacy of this boldness was necessary in order to collect the various kinds of animals for preservation, but who can say that they weren’t quite amicable with people prior to this point?

I personally believe that in the Millennium, there will be a restoration of this relationship between man and beast; there are passages that show that there will no longer be predators and prey (ISA 11:7), that animals will no longer be lethal and a threat to us, even to little children and babes (ISA 11:8), but that all will become docile (ISA 65:25) – and who knows, perhaps like Dr. Doolittle, we’ll even be able to “talk to the animals”?

In any event, the animal kingdom, as well as all the Earth, is placed once again in the stewardship of man: “They are given into your hand”, GOD said. Environmentalists and Naturalists spurn the idea of people meddling in the affairs of the animal kingdom, but we have biblical authority, even a mandate to manage it – but not to misuse or even abuse this GOD created kingdom (and there is certainly a lot of that going around!).

Now for the vegans:

GENESIS 9:3-4
Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. 4 "But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

Whatever the environment was like prior to the Fall of man, there was a fundamental change afterwards. You recall that GOD cursed the ground for Adam’s sake (GEN 3:17b-18). Now as a result of the Flood, another change must have occurred; whereas man was vegetarian before (as were all the animals) the Fall, as a result of this paradigm shift, GOD now not only allows man to consume animal flesh, but He also ordains it. Whereas before the intake of proteins, iron, creatine, and other elements weren’t necessary, by this time they are. GOD even engineered our mouths for this purpose: we are equipped with canine teeth, used in holding and tearing meat.

We are not vegetarian by nature – the horse is, as is the deer; lions and tigers are carnivores, eating meat; bears are omnivores and will eat both – and so do we. Our digestive tract is particularly suited for this (now if only we could acquire sustenance that isn’t pumped full of steroids, hormones, and antibiotics!).

No blood is to be consumed in partaking of meat products. This is so serious that GOD requires the death of any who violate this order; this is later codified in the Law of Moses (LEV 3:17).

As For Capital Punishment:

GENESIS 9:5-6
5 "Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man's brother I will require the life of man. 6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man.

Man in accordance with his own sensibilities sees capital punishment as archaic, backward, and cruel – I’m astounded and truly baffled how the same people will not only support abortion rights, but vehemently deny the validity of any other view in the public arena! Supposedly studies have been done to prove that capital punishment doesn’t work as a deterrent, but I beg to differ. If the murderer is executed, he can’t murder again! Deterrent provided!

GOD’s command to “be fruitful and multiply” in vs. 1 is repeated in vs. 7. Considering the rate of population growth, the size of our planet, the resources contained therein – all created by an all-knowing GOD Who knows every detail of our future, and Who never once stated, “Enough is enough, stop having babies!
Yet the over-population explosion is the big bug-a-boo of our day; people are admonished, and in some nations legally enforced to restrict the number of their children.

Overpopulation is a myth (check out the videos at the end of this page!), plain and simple. Population Control,* however, is not – and there is definitely a very, very dark side to this that points to globalist agendas that are not above using such tactics as germ warfare and sterilization of the masses to obtain their objectives!

* See the following RED PILL Consortium article:

GENESIS 9:8-11
8Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying: 9 "And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you, 10 "and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth. 11 "Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.

Since we are all of us, the descendants of Noah, this is a covenant that applies to us just as much as to Noah and his three sons. The directive to eat meat, to execute the murderer, to not eat blood, and to be fruitful and multiply.

Have you noticed the strong push from the powers that be to abstain from meat (1 TIM 4:3)? To support the rights to murder the innocent (PSALM 106:38)? The bizarre and sudden rise of vampirism (1 SAM 14:44 verifies eating blood is forbidden)? And the ideology behind population control being promoted everywhere?

I see this as rebellion against GOD and against this sacred covenant that He established with the people of the Earth; so much so, that for these reasons – and far, far more (the obvious reason being that the human race has by and large rejected Jesus Christ as LORD and revile His atonement for their sins) that judgment is coming! Only His promise to never again destroy this world by flood is clearly stated here:

GENESIS 9:12-17
12 And God said: "This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 "I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 "It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 "and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 "The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." 17 And God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.

The Noahic covenant is with mankind, the animal kingdom (vs. 12) and with the planet itself (vs. 13).
Rainbows are seen everywhere around the planet; if this were only a local flood (as some have erroneously suggested), this sign would only be necessary in the area affected. Besides the which, if this promise of the rainbow was to ensure no more local floods would occur, then GOD broke this covenant – because there have been countless local floods throughout the centuries!

The everlasting covenant in respect to Noah is only as everlasting as the Earth itself (which will one day be disintegrated, along with the heavens themselves; 2 PET 3:10).

How is Christ the ultimate fulfillment of this Noahic covenant?

Being fruitful and multiplying?
Every day, more and more souls are born into the kingdom of GOD (ACTS 2:471 PET 1:23-24; JN 1:12-13)!

The order to eat meat?
His meat was to do the will of the Father (JN 6:27)!

The prohibition to refrain from eating of blood?
Y’shua in all ways fulfilled the Law, and this was also one He obeyed (MT 5:17)!

To execute murderers?
This is the function of the avenger of blood as outlined in the Old Testament and fulfilled by Christ Himself when He comes in judgment against all who have broken the Holy Law of GOD (ISA 63:2-4)!

And just as He destroyed the old world for the evil hearts of man that refused to repent, He will likewise return and destroy the very ground under the feet of those that suffer in the time of Tribulation, but who stubbornly curse GOD in their rebellion!

He destroyed the old world by flood and promised never again to do so; read the fine print however, and you find that destruction of this world will indeed happen again, only this next time, it will be by fire!

2 PETER 3:9-13
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
