"We see, in many a land, the proudest dynasties and tyrannies still crushing, with their mountain weight, every free motion of the Consciences and hearts of men. We see, on the other hand, the truest heroism for the right and the greatest devotion to the Truth in hearts that God has touched. We have a work to do, as great as our forefathers and, perhaps, far greater. The enemies of Truth are more numerous and subtle than ever and the needs of the Church are greater than at any preceding time. If we are not debtors to the present, then men were never debtors to their age and their time. Brethren, we are debtors to the hour in which we live. Oh, that we might stamp it with Truth and that God might help us to impress upon its wings some proof that it has not flown by neglected and unheeded." -- C.H. Spurgeon . . . "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31, 32 . . . . .

Evidence for the Bible

The Bible is truly a remarkable book. It's a collection of 66 writings that were penned by more than 40 authors on three continents over a period of 1500 years. The Bible has been translated into hundreds of languages—far more than any other book. It has had a profound lasting influence on humanity for more than 2000 years and remains the number one selling book in the world every single year. It addresses life's most controversial questions (Does God exist? And if so, what is He like? Why do people exist? What happens to people after they die? Why is there evil and suffering in the world? etc). And it has given billions of followers of Jesus the confidence that their sins have been forgiven, their relationship with God has been restored, and that they will live forever in the presence of their Creator. But...

• Why should anyone take the Bible seriously?
• Haven't the contents of the Bible been tampered with down through the centuries?• Aren't there scientific errors in the Bible?• What about the alleged contradictions in the Gospels?• What makes the Bible any different than the Quran or the Book of Mormon?

These are excellent questions! And there are good answers to them. In the resources below, Norman Geisler, Charlie Campbell, Ron Rhodes, and others address these questions, giving compelling evidence that the Bible is indeed what it claims to be, the divinely inspired, authoritative, trustworthy Word of God—written by men yes, but men who were guided by God as they penned its words (2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
