"We see, in many a land, the proudest dynasties and tyrannies still crushing, with their mountain weight, every free motion of the Consciences and hearts of men. We see, on the other hand, the truest heroism for the right and the greatest devotion to the Truth in hearts that God has touched. We have a work to do, as great as our forefathers and, perhaps, far greater. The enemies of Truth are more numerous and subtle than ever and the needs of the Church are greater than at any preceding time. If we are not debtors to the present, then men were never debtors to their age and their time. Brethren, we are debtors to the hour in which we live. Oh, that we might stamp it with Truth and that God might help us to impress upon its wings some proof that it has not flown by neglected and unheeded." -- C.H. Spurgeon . . . "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31, 32 . . . . .

"The Evangelist Poem" by Clinton Hester - Commentary by James Fire

It is my greatest pleasure and joy to present to our readers a remarkable young man, a saint of GOD, a child of the Father, a disciple of Christ who also happens to be a spiritual son in the faith to me; something akin to apostle Paul with his beloved son Timothy.

This is Clinton Hester, a man of many GOD given talents and abilities. What I admire and respect about him most is what I observed about him upon our first meeting:

He takes his faith quite seriously! He loves the LORD intensely and for good reason: the LORD has forgiven him of much!

This hip-hop tune is something he wrote a while back and while I'm not particularly fond of hip-hop or rap music in general, I can't help but love this, because of the truth that overflows from these lyrics, so artfully expressed!
The lyrics to The Evangelist Poem will be in larger font, my commentary is smaller font and indented.

Included at the end is the video where you can listen to his song for yourself. So, without further delay, here it is!

The devil is accusing you daily, of every little dirty deed, and fantasy, injustice, and unclean profanity.
This is Satan’s modus operandi, and it works on sinners and saints alike. First there is the temptation, and the deception, the urging and enticement. Then once a soul falls for the false promises of satisfaction and fulfillment, he comes against them with accusatory condemnation and assures them that they are so evil, that there is NO WAY GOD would ever want you! So, he drives the very souls away that GOD longs to come to Him! (2 COR 4:4; REV 12:10; LUKE 1:71)
It's not insanity it's the Son of man in me here to tell you to repent, and believe Jesus was heaven sent to deliver you from every sin you would ever commit if you would admit you need a Savior.
The world thinks the Gospel is foolish and irrational; to believe in a “Sugar Daddy up in the sky” is insanity, but He has proven His reality by creation that couldn’t have come about all by itself or by some random, freak accident. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending. The First Cause and the Final Influence!
Christ came with the call of repentance to all – that the time of GOD winking at men was over!
Christ didn’t die as a helpless martyr: He was sent as The Apostle from GOD the Father for the mission to save souls. His dying on the Cross as our propitiation was His part. Ours is to repent and admit that we NEED the Savior! (1 COR 1:23-28; ROM 1:20-21; REV 1:8; MATT 9:13; ACTS 17:30; JOHN 10:14-18; HEB 3:1; 1 JOHN 2:2; ROM 10:9-10)
Blessed are the one's slow to anger in the name of the one nailed to a cross and born in a manger. I can explain it on paper we have a sinful nature, but His blood can eliminate your... most epic failures…
Every aspect of the Life of Christ was foretold – everything to where He would be born, to the method by which He would die. GOD used over 40 writers in scribing the Holy Scriptures, explaining on paper – the pages of the Bible as originally written on parchments and vellum what our heart condition is and what needs to happen to bring about a change based on the blood of Christ that can indeed eliminate our most epic failures! (2 PET 1:21; 2 TIM 3:16; ISA 30:12; JER 17:9; EZEK 36:26; ROM 3:10,20,23; 1 JOHN 2:2; ISA 1:18).
The way is straight, and narrow like an arrow pointing to perfection, sin it's like an infection pulling you from the direction that leads to the resurrection of the blessed.
Religion, philosophy, self-improvement courses are all invalid, only because the Way has been provided and made clear already by GOD. That Way reveals the perfect Holy Law of GOD which we can never live up to. But the Judgment of GOD doesn’t deviate – it’s as straight as straight can be, and it must condemn the guilty. This infection has been passed down from the beginning when Adam and Eve fell from their innocent state and acquired a sin nature. That nature, in conjunction with the wiles of the devil, and the philosophy of this world pulls every soul away from the provision of eternal life by the resurrection of Christ! (JOHN 14:6; ACTS 4:12; PHIL 2:8-11; EPH 2:2-3; ROM 3:19; ROM 5:12; JOHN 3:19-20)
The gospel? They professed it, but they did more than that they gave up all of that sin, and more in fact they put their faith to action and had compassion without any form or fashion of regret, see…
The apostles, hand selected by GOD the Son Himself were all martyred (except for apostle John, and Judas who betrayed Christ and then rather than repenting, he hung himself: thus ended the life of the son of perdition. But they are destined for a better resurrection wherein they shall inherit far more than what they lost! As it’s been said, “He is no fool who loses what he cannot keep, to keep what he cannot lose!” Their faith was a living faith, a proof of their trust in the Risen Christ and declared His resurrection even from their own crosses! They showed their faith by their works, and so should we!
The LORD Jesus was regularly “moved with compassion” and so the Apostles likewise laid down their lives in the service of their fellow men for the glory of JESUS! (LUKE 6:12-13; JOHN 21:22-23; MATT 27:5; HEB 11:35-38; MARK 8:36; MATT 19:27-28; JAMES 2:17-24; MATT 9:36; MARK 9:35; 10:44; PHIL 2:17)
Jesus gave it all, nobody took it... The earth is big, but He shook it, He can breathe life, and give sight to the blind; raising Himself from the dead was a sign He's divine; and He can raise you too if you choose Him instead of sin, follow Jesus don't follow men...
The LORD freely gave His life, and even in the midst of His Passion, suffering unimaginable horrors and excruciation as our sin bearer, Who Himself took on our sin and the subsequent judgment from GOD the Father for our sin – had a joy in knowing what His Holy Work of salvation would bring Him: ivory oceans of saints offering wave after wave of worship at the Throne of GOD unto the LAMB Who was slain!. And this Savior is also Creator who shook this world at Calvary, will shake it repeatedly during the time of the tribulation and ultimately do away with this old, tired planet.
(ISA 53; HEB 9:26; 12:2; REV 19:9; 7:9; 5:6; 16:18; 2 PET 3:10-12)
He is the Author of Life and can breathe life of eternal quality to all who will receive Him as LORD and Savior! He healed the blind, and still does: both the physically as well as spiritually blind! And for those healed of spiritual blindness, they understand that since JESUS is GOD made flesh, He shouldn’t be capable of dying, but He did! Thus, the evidence that it was from the wages of sin by the entirety of the human race that He died. But death couldn’t hold Him as He conquered its power and rose up with the provision of eternal life to all who choose and follow Him. They are blessed to follow after the Good Shepherd Who abides faithful in His ministry. Something no other man can claim to the same measure of quality: thus ultimately, we follow JESUS, not flesh and blood. (ACTS 3:15; JOHN 20:22; ROM 10:9; COL 1:13; MATT 11:5; ACTS 26:18; JOHN 10:30; 1 TIM 3:16; ACTS 2:24’ ROM 6:23; 8:3; JOHN 10:4)
Every man is a liar, and deserves the lake of fire, his heart is wicked, and deceitful, lusting after evil he needs a redeemer; he needs to drop to his knees, and confess he's a believer!
We were born from the womb speaking lies – that’s how pervasive and immediate sin nature is. We don’t have to teach our children how to rebel or to conduct themselves in unlawful ways – they do it naturally because of sin nature. Yet it’s because we are sinners, unwilling to repent, refusing Jesus’ right as Creator LORD GOD, that we truly deserve the lake of fire. How strange but true, that human beings crave that which is destroying them: sin. It’s the picture of a drug addict who knows their next fix will likely kill them, but they hunger for it nonetheless! It’s only by the grace of GOD that reaches out to lost souls and convinces them of the truth: they NEED the Redeemer!
Humbling oneself before GOD is simply acknowledging the truth of our lowly estate – in fact our spiritual poverty! And those who will believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST will be saved! (PSA 58:3; ISA 30:1,9; 2 THESS 2:10-12; ROM 1:18; ISA 1:4-6, 18-20; JOHN 3:16-17; ACTS 8:35-37; 1 PET 5:6; MATT 5:3; ACTS 16:31)
Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we shall fear no evil, for they rod, and thy staff they comfort me. Now, this didn't come from me. This is scripture, and it paints a picture of faith.
Death holds no terror for the saint, because the LORD is with us with his rod and staff (that which defends us, and that which guides us. Our King escorts each and everyone of us from this world into the next and that transition is precious to Him, because we are brought near to Him, so that we may “awake and behold Your likeness” These and other revelations of truth are not man-made any more than Christianity is a man-made religion. Christianity of the biblical sort is all about Christ, and His followers, His disciples, His brethren who are family, and all of this was established by the Creator and recorded for us in the Holy Revelation of GOD’s Word. To have faith in the inspired Word of GOD and to obey its Truth is to have Jesus Christ the Rock as our unshakable, unchanging, steadfast and faithful foundation. That is a security all the money in the world couldn’t possibly buy! (PSA 23; ROM 15:4; PSA 116:15; 17:15; JOHN 14:6; JOHN 7:37-38; MATT 28:10; 1 PET 4:11; MATT 7:24-25; HEB 12:28)
People of the world you needed a favor, because sin is a slaver, so the Maker came, and paid your debt! So be grateful and pay respect by living a life worthy of the debt paid – the sentence was death.
We were slaves to sin, Satan’s POW’s. Glory to the Name of the LORD Jesus Christ Who has freed us from the laws of sin and death! Our conduct was one wholly unrighteous and full of lawlessness. No longer! And while we were still enemies of GOD, still in Satan’s proverbial back pocket, the LORD showed us His grace, and looked upon our plight of perdition with favor by stepping in Himself, the innocent, sinless, righteous Lamb of GOD and voluntarily took our place under the wrath of GOD, He was judged at the Cross as though He lived all of our lives of wretched and vile sins. In exchange He has granted us His righteousness as though we lived His sinless life.
If for no other reason than this, we should be overflowing with gratefulness perpetually, daily, year upon year, decade upon decade, for the length of our days and on into eternity!
Our lives as saints isn’t “pay back’ to GOD (as if we could ever pay Him back!) but rather one big THANK YOU GOD FOR SAVING MY SOUL as we live lives that are accounted worthy in honoring our LORD Jesus! The Lamb was slain, the debt paid!
Let us never forget: JESUS died for us, let us live for Him! (ROM 5:19; 6:17-18; GAL 3:23; ROM 3:20; ROM 5:6-8, 10; EPH 2:8-9; 2 TIM 1:9; PSA 40:7-10; JOHN 19:30; ROM 12:1-2)
He didn't deserve it; but you did. What greater love is there than laying down your life for a friend? Thus saith the Lord!
This is indeed the Place of Grace! This is what struck me when I first realized by the intervention of the Holy Spirit that Christ suffered for my sins. I inwardly protested, exclaiming that it wasn’t fair for Him! These were MY sins, I’M the one who should be punished! Why would You taint Your holy, pure soul with my ugly, stinking, wretched sins?? His answer shattered my hard, cold heart: “Because I love you…” On that day, He became my Best Friend: an honor I couldn’t possibly be worthy of, but by His grace He has remained an ever faithful, always near Friend of friends solely by His unlimited grace! (TITUS 3:5-6; EPH 1:18; ISA 53:3-8, 10-11; 64:6; JOHN 15:10, 14; MATT 11:19; 1 COR 1:9; 2 THESS 3:3)
