"We see, in many a land, the proudest dynasties and tyrannies still crushing, with their mountain weight, every free motion of the Consciences and hearts of men. We see, on the other hand, the truest heroism for the right and the greatest devotion to the Truth in hearts that God has touched. We have a work to do, as great as our forefathers and, perhaps, far greater. The enemies of Truth are more numerous and subtle than ever and the needs of the Church are greater than at any preceding time. If we are not debtors to the present, then men were never debtors to their age and their time. Brethren, we are debtors to the hour in which we live. Oh, that we might stamp it with Truth and that God might help us to impress upon its wings some proof that it has not flown by neglected and unheeded." -- C.H. Spurgeon . . . "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31, 32 . . . . .

TEN CHALLENGES of JESUS CHRIST FOR HIS DISCIPLES

I’ve been thinking about what the LORD Jesus Christ expects of us as His disciples.

Many of the things our LORD says to us brings great encouragement, hope and comfort. Then there are those things He says that can make us feel rather uncomfortable. Certain challenging statements that can pinch us quite a bit.

Some have taken these statements and twisted them, explaining what the LORD really meant when He said them. But there really is no twisting these statements. He meant what He said, and He said what He meant.

So let’s go over ten of these declarations found in the Holy Revelation of GOD’s Word. Most of these quotes are from the Gospel of MATTHEW.

TRIUMPHANT TRILOGIES – PSALM 22, 23, 24: PSALM 23 - The GOOD Shepherd

INTRODUCTION – We’ve completed the Trilogy of ROMANS 6,7, and 8 that was beautifully expressed and exposited by the apostle Paul in dealing with the justification, sanctification and glorification of the saints.

Now we continue in this series by examining yet another trilogy of triumph:

PSALMS 22, 23 and 24!

Since I already did a rather in-depth study on PSALM 22 I’ve included the link below. Once you’ve had a chance to read that, you can proceed to the study at hand.

Here in these three Psalms we have the Sacrificed LAMB (PSA 22), the Serving SHEPHERD (PSA 23) and the Sovereign LORD (PSA 24).

His sacrifice is past tense: already completed and finalized at The ALTAR of the ALMIGHTY. For this treatment our readers are encouraged to follow the preceding link to examine what transpired and why it was necessary.

Moving along from the First article of this Trilogy, we come to the Second article:

The G.E.P.C Study – GALATIANS 4: PART 2

Going Through Paul’s epistles to Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, and Colossi

INTRODUCTION: The pride of man insists in his own inherit goodness; that all he needs is a bit of “that ol’ time religion” to spruce things up. Say a prayer, perform a ritual, pay a tithe, attend service now and then, build up some ‘brownie points’ – enough so that one’s good deeds outweigh the bad and you’re in good with GOD.

Under the Old Testament, the Law of Moses brought condemnation for all who commit sin. If the justice of GOD was served among sinners, He would slay them. The heart of GOD while just, is also merciful. So the LORD arranged that animals would pay the price of His people when they committed sins. Animals that were innocent and never committed an offense towards anyone at all. Yet the blood of animals only covered sin up, it didn’t wash them away. More potent blood was needed for that…

These creatures were types, examples to demonstrate what would happen once the LAMB of GOD came upon the scene in the land of Israel. Prophecy “in the fullness of time” came to fruition and Christ was born (GAL 4:4).

He lived a sinless life, and as an innocent relative to mankind (the son of Abraham, the son of David, the Son of man Who is also the Son of GOD) A kinsman goel in fact) He paid the price for us sinners that we could never pay! We now have liberty in Christ and have no need to get entangled in the Law that condemns (GAL 5:1), but rather embrace the LORD of Life that commends those who are justified by faith!

This is what Paul the apostle desires to convey to the Galatians who have strayed from the Messiah and are reverting back to the Law. In this second half of our study in Chapter Four, we pick up in verse 12:

The GREAT COMMISSION HASN’T CHANGED – BUT HAVE WE?

It’s a new year! 2023 is gone, hello 2024. Many make New Year resolutions, and they are resolved to one degree or another on making good on them.

“Resolve” by definition is “to decide firmly on a course of action.”

As the church of Jesus Christ are we showing any resolve to detour from the course of complacency, to avert apathy because we see the hopelessness of ever being able to change the world (I refer to it as “Planet Rebyl”) that has gone deeper and deeper into corruption and wickedness? I know that that’s a temptation.

Once such issue is abortion, that’s been legal for about 50 years now. It’s been around for so long, many of us have resigned to its existence. But the question must be asked:

Did the LORD Jesus Christ die for the sins of the world, become the willing sacrifice for ourselves, to save our souls, to redeem our lives – just so that we can live our lives in ho-hum mediocrity that doesn’t affect souls for Christ? Is such a radical salvation to be responded to with half-hearted, only somewhat obedient lives by us who are GOD’s own children?

STUDY In The Book of NEHEMIAH TRIUMPH by TRANSFORMATION – Ch. 9, Part 1 of 2

INTRODUCTION
: The whole of GOD’s creation has been marred, tainted, deformed – in some respects even the heavenlies. In order to bring things back to what GOD intends, He is in the process of renewing everything – starting with human hearts.

Those who are born again are part of the new creation, representing a new human race, based upon the last Adam (the LORD Jesus) – as opposed to the first Adam, on whom the old human race is founded. The new human race will inherit all things through the last Adam; the old human race will remain under the curse of the first Adam and incur judgment and perdition. Those of the old race have the hope of redemption still, where they can be translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of GOD’s dear Son (COL 1:13).

We of the new creation are having our minds renewed, and one day (LORD, soon, please!) our bodies will be made new – eventually along with the New Earth and the New Heavens – with the New Jerusalem descending down into this everlastingly glorious, beautiful world!

To think that there is coming a day when not only evil will not exist, but it will also never come into our remembrance! Adam and Eve were innocent before the Fall, but they were corruptible (that is, able to be corrupted via yielding to temptation to sin). In our glorified state, we will be incorruptible (1 COR 15:42-58; 1 PET 1:23) – meaning not only will we not decay or degrade, but that, unlike our First Parents, we will be incapable of corruption! Thank You LORD!

Sin nature will no longer dwell in us, nor will we be able to fall into sin! Holiness will last forever and ever in an everlastingly new creation, and GOD and His saints and angels will literally “live happily ever after”! That’s no fairy tale!

And yet, we are still in process, just as the Jewish people were still in process of being sanctified in the days of Nehemiah. Jerusalem the city has been restored, the people of Jerusalem are on the way to restoration!
