I’m writing this a few days before our national religious holiday, Halloween. This year they began to display Halloween merchandise before summer was even ended. We are becoming a culture of death, and it is not surprising that we are investing more and more in purchasing things to lay on the altar of darkness.
As I’ve said before, Halloween usually is for me what Christmas is for retailers. I get more calls and requests to speak about this subject than at any time of the year. I am ok with that, because that is the world I was delivered from, and I prefer speaking about it, so I can reach out to others for Jesus and bring them into the light of truth and deliverance from evil. I get legitimately angry when I see the depth of evil and depravity amplified this time of year. Everything is a game to the media and for many people. Halloween is fun, slasher movies are spooky fun, occult movies are exciting fun. People have no idea of the darkness behind it all.
I am so grateful for the Lord for providing me with the opportunities he has this season. I was contacted by YouTube creator/podcaster Shaun Attwood asking if I would come on the show.
He has had over 1,000,000 viewers over the course of time. And even though it was not a Christian channel, I felt like it would open a possibility to not just share the truth about ritual abuse and the occult, but to tell people about Jesus and His power to save and deliver and heal. God allowed all of that to happen last weekend. There were well over 1,000 viewers.
These issues still matter to me, because for the last thirty years, a growing fog of confusion has come up around the issues of ritual abuse, satanic groups, “illuminati”, various conspiracies etc. And one thing that has always been very important to me has been credibility. When I was training criminal justice, it was crucial to me that whatever I presented could be verified and true.

After several years, a number of people were claiming any number of things, from being from top illuminati bloodlines to having been sex slaves to all the politicians and world leaders you can imagine.
Not that some of that was not real. There were surely real victims that were sex slaves to people with money and power, we had verified that. Not that a number of victims of ritual abuse did not come from long lines of powerful occult families, that is a fact.
The problem was that some people came into our networks who claimed to be able to deprogram mind control victims and help ritual abuse survivors, and they turned out to be reprogrammers and spreaders of disinformation. The stories grew more elaborate, and then flat unbelievable, making it easy for those on the outside to completely dismiss the very real issue of child trafficking and ritual abuse.
At some point, with the advent of YouTube as a platform for anyone who wanted to express their views, or preach their message, or expose various social issues, the area of ritual abuse/occultism, human trafficking and child abuse became contaminated with people who were promoting some of the most outrageous – and without factual basis – conspiracy theories I’d ever seen.
Part of my deciding to do this last podcast was to help separate fact from fiction, theory from real and talk about crucial, real situations requiring prayer, intervention and rescue.
Why is this important? A couple of years ago, a lady established a YouTube channel as a “survivor” and built-up huge following, many who were survivors looking for help. I never dismiss a testimony out of hand; I have heard some of the most painful and horrific stories you can imagine.
But from the beginning, I watched this person’s stories grow from one level to another, and before long, she had created a narrative that had her at the center of politicians, royalty, every Hollywood celebrity you can imagine. Then she called my late friend Russ Dizdar (this link from the awesome website of the ministry THROUGH The BLACK) – who was a true servant of the Lord and a pioneer in our work - a Satanist. I was done on the spot. Whatever else this person may have said, all credibility was gone.
In the meantime, there is a real world of people caught up in the occult, victims of human trafficking, and an ocean of children and teens that are without hope without Jesus. People who are spreading stories for their own purpose are taking both the attention and the resources away from those who need the help the most.
My hope is that our program threw out a lifeline to the victims who listened and gave them hope in Jesus, the only answer to their pain and suffering. I am always aware – because I had experienced it before – that someone may be somewhere – maybe in a cheap motel, maybe watching on someone’s phone – who feels like there is no way out – heard that there was HOPE. They heard that they were forgotten, and there were those doing all they could to bring them home.
I am thankful for the relationships here in the city that have encouraged me, and for the churches that have welcomed me. I am thankful that I am able to keep my door open, especially on Mondays, to provide a place of safety and learning, fellowship and truth, for those who come. I am thankful for the ability to meet and reach out to young people here in the city who are invisible, hurting, lost. If nothing more than to say, “God loves you. Someone is praying for you.”
Sometimes the battle is so fierce that I grow weary in the fight.
But then something happens that reminds me what this fight is for. Two weeks ago, a 13-year-old boy was brought to the hospital here – he was 33 pounds and nearly starved to death.
Parents adopted him at three and for ten years, all he has known is abuse, starvation and beatings, apparently. Not all the facts have come out yet, and the parents are in custody.
Even as I write this, they are uncertain if the boy will live. Doctors say it’s unlikely he will.
He has a feeding tube. This utterly broke me. This reminded me why I stay in the fight, why I educate, why I teach, why I reach out to every young person I can in whatever venue opens, wherever I walk in the streets and in the public spaces. These injured lives are all around us. They live lives of quiet hell, or they walk the streets strung out, as teens after years of being in the trafficking rings, now just discarded like trash. And I am once more reminded that the Gospel is for the least, the last, and the lost.
It is for the lost sheep. It is for the one. My one prayer is that God will allow me to pour everything out for the rest of my life for whatever battle or fight for the lives of this generation that I can.
And I am deeply grateful for your ongoing prayers that sustain me in the hardest times.
