I had intended to post a special blog for our Independence Day celebration, but for some reason every time I attempted to save the article that I was working on, my computer would lock up and crash. It took me a while, but after re-writing the entire article four times and without success, I remembered that the servant of the Lord does not strive.
Sometimes the Lord just wants us to stop, to put aside what we are doing that He may refocus our attention and our hearts on Him, and that’s exactly what I did.
The TRUTH UNDER FIRE is a ministry that many times deals with really heavy issues. Exposing the blatant, or the subtle wiles of the devil, whether they are through political, spiritual, or church events is important and goes without apology on our part.
However, as we filter these articles through the lens of Scripture, we don’t want to leave our readers overwhelmed and without hope.
Our hope is in Christ alone. For without Him we can do NOTHING!
Jesus did not say that he was one of many ways, or one of many truths. He claimed to be the only way, the only truth and the only life. For He is the only way to life everlasting; and He is the only divine truth.
There is nothing on this earth that can change this. There is only one way to God and that is through His Son Jesus Christ.
As multitudes listen to those who claim to have all of the answers to the countless problems facing America, they are faced with making a decision of trust and blind faith in a failing system. How is there hope in that? To be forced to believe in the vain words of men and in many instances liars is a fate worse than death.
Our ways are failing us simply because we have left God out! We cannot fix the gigantic problems of our economy or the moral decay of our society without facing the real truth of the problem.
We must admit that the failure we face as a nation is our responsibility and ours alone. We alone are to blame for all that has happened to us. We have blasphemed against the Holy Spirit of God, and have lived according to our own lusts, our own pleasures, and our own will, not unlike Lucifer when He exalted his will above the LORD. We are in this mess because we have not followed the will of God.
Well, sin has a way of catching up to us sooner or later. We have sown to the flesh and will reap the whirlwind of God’s wrath (HOS 8:7).
WAIT! DON’T HANG YOUR HEAD AND RUN NOW…even with all that said there is still HOPE! Why so downcast oh my soul? Put your hope in God (PS 42:5,11)!
Jesus did not leave us alone. He did not say, Well I’ve got to go now, fend for yourselves.
He said that He is going to prepare a place for us (JN 14:1-2)! Hooray! Rejoice Christian!
He said that He will never leave us or forsake us (HEB 13:5)! Hooray! Again, I say rejoice Christian!
He left us His Word. He left us His Holy Spirit and through Him we can know His voice, we can hear His voice, and we can be led by His Spirit into all truth. He will teach us (JN 16:7-15); He can change us; He will fill us; and He will strengthen us until He comes back for us!
He is our advocate with the Father. He is our High Priest. He is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE (JN 14:6; 1 JN 2:1).
Are you lost? He is the Way!
Are you tired of being lied to and don’t know who to believe? He is the TRUTH!
Are you afraid for your life? Take His…He is the Life.
The decision is ours and ours alone. We can be led down a road that leads to destruction or we can turn back to the Lord.
This decision must happen individually before it can happen as a nation.
It is as though all blessing, hope, mercy and goodness were placed by divine will in a room into which there is but one entrance. There is no way to obtain these blessings except to enter therein through that door. Truly Jesus is that door, and the center of our hope. He is our only hope.
ROMANS 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
The only gospel that will save America is the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior!

He alone is our Mighty Fortress!
He alone is our Refuge!
He alone is our Peace!

He alone is our Trust!
He alone is our Faith!
He alone is our All in All!
He is our God who is worthy of all of our praise. To Him be all glory and honor and praise, Amen.

All too often I see the phrase, "God bless America" and I wonder how He can do this, when we are guilty of everything that He hates: injustice towards the weak and defenseless, the slaying of the innocent, the flagrant promotion of pornography, and aberrant sexual so-called "life styles", corruption in our court systems, legal theft, economic oppression by a government that's supposed to be public servant #1.
Rather, "God Save America" would be a more appropriate expression. He certainly desires to, and He likewise desires to use His church, as the instrument by which the gospel of salvation is heralded, not by our mouths alone, but by our hearts and lives. If the church today lacks the power to proclaim the gospel, its not God's fault: He has endowed us with His Holy Spirit and His Word. The fault is ours, for we have so limited the Holy One of Israel with carnality, hardened hearts, and unsanctified lives that the Spirit of the Lord can barely shine the glorious light of the Gospel through the 'dirty windows of our souls'.
May God grant His church repentance, and revival, and may this in turn effect a far more powerful ministry in the gospel to a hurting world that's on the brink of collapse. Jesus Christ is the one and only hope!
