LOOKING AT THE TOUGH TRUTH
Patrick Henry (whose famous quotes are well known by American patriots, “Give me liberty or give me death” and “I regret that I have but one life to give for my country”) when addressing the President of Colonial America said the following regarding the seriously grave situation concerning the British forces that assailed the barefoot American soldiers,
“For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it.” (For an article FROM The MIND of FIRE, that speaks about Patrick Henry and liberty, go here.)
In other words, he was willing to look the facts squarely in the eye, no matter how painful or unpleasant they were. It could be the most reprehensible, offensive list of facts that we really don’t want to hear but need to hear!
This is what we need to do in this late, dark hour in our American history.
I’ve been listening to the teachings of the late pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (these were recorded back in 1979); I’m currently in the book of Jeremiah, who was known as ‘the weeping prophet’ – because it was his lot to witness the demise of his beloved nation of Israel.
He witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem, the abject ruin of its streets and venues; I can well imagine he looked down the street where he once lived and saw nothing but ashes and wreckage. He had warned and warned the king, the government, the nobles and all the people, but to no avail. He told the king countless numbers of times:
“This is the judgment of GOD! Babylon is coming because we have refused to repent of our sin and turn to the LORD! Don’t resist Nebuchadnezzar’s armies, don’t fight! Submit to this and at least you will survive. But if you rise up and wage war, you’ll be fighting against the LORD GOD Himself and you’ll be destroyed!”
The false prophets spoke soothing and deceitful words to the king, promising him that GOD will ensure our victory, because after all we are His chosen people (convenient how when things were looking dangerous, suddenly they identify as ‘GOD’s chosen’ but when everything was smooth sailing?)!
But the LORD was ignored, and false idols were adored.
A generation prior, Isaiah had issued warnings of impending judgment as well because of Israel’s sin. So did Amos and Micah. No one listened. They were unwilling to look the facts squarely in the eye.
Eventually Babylon came and in three sieges managed to level the place, including the center of Jewish life: the Temple – which should have been like cutting the heart out of the adoring people, but instead it was the presence of the LORD that was cut out of the heart of an apostate people.
I can see our broken-hearted LORD, Who for all His efforts, reached out gently to touch the shoulder of His people in order to turn them back to Himself. But how did they respond to His promptings?
ZECHARIAH 7:11
11 But they refused to heed, pulled away their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. 12 "Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.
The prophet witnessed the nobility of Israel being hauled away to the foreign land of the Chaldeans; by the time Nebuchadnezzar’s armies were finished, all that was left was a few thousand poor people, and a handful of low-level rulers, and the prophet himself. The smoldering, lustful sins of these unrepentant people came to be reflected in the fiery wreckage and smoldering ash heaps over the land of Israel. They most certainly reaped what they had sown (HOS 8:7): death and destruction, the unavoidably corrupt fruit of sin.
MODUS OPERANDI: FIGHT OPPRESSION
Oppression in this satanically governed world is the common currency that the devil deals with on a regular basis. Most of our human history is rank with a leader oppressing his people, or a nation oppressing other nations. Or simply more powerful individuals oppressing weaker ones. Behind it all, we have the sin nature that delights in doing such things and the ruler of this world, Satan as well, who inspires such repulsive behavior. He himself is the master of oppression.
Wherever there have been ‘pockets of promise’ and ‘beams of benevolent rule’ it’s usually because of the Word of GOD; where He is reverenced and respected by all, including and most especially the leaders who didn’t at all see themselves as autocratic authorities that ruled with impunity, but as rulers who are themselves accountable to The Ruler – the LORD GOD Himself.
In our own Declaration of Independence, these words were written:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed BY THEIR CREATOR with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
We began a journey in those days, something that was referred to as ‘the Great Experiment’ – a government of self-rule without any monarch, without any oligarchy; without anything except a document to restrain the powers of a godly government that could potentially turn into an oppressive one – which should always be a servant of the people, instead of the other way around. We were a godly nation – as is attested to even by the State Constitutions and the writings of Christians – we were a good people.
"I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers—and it was not there . . . in her fertile fields and boundless forests—and it was not there. . . .in her rich mines and her vast world commerce—and it was not there. . . in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution—and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great."

Other nations followed suit when they caught sight of the light of liberty that was America and freed themselves of the darkness of oppression that haunted their own lands. The oft compared revolution that happened in France was nothing however like the American Revolution, for in France, Socialism was hailed as king. In America GOD our Creator and the Bible was; the One Who endowed us with unalienable rights: meaning no government body could take away that which is given to us by GOD: He alone is the author of genuine life, He alone is the bestower of true freedom, He alone is the provider of authentic happiness. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness is ultimately found in none other than the LORD Jesus Christ!
The land of the free has become the land of the enslaved – but the one security for lasting freedom that we have left as a nation – or as individual Americans – is the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This is the sure and certain liberator that frees us from any and all shackles any government or religious institution might bind us with! The tragedy is, the LORD has held His nail-scarred hand out to America for several decades (at least) in a plea for this once-godly nation to repent, and embrace His liberation of sinners, and instead, we’ve trampled His precious blood underfoot and remained enslaved. The consequences:
HEBREWS 10:28-31
Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people." 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
For this reason, I believe America’s last gleaming in twilight has been put out; the offer of the Gospel now resides with the few individuals that are still seeking for truth, still looking for GOD, still hungering and thirsting for righteousness (MATT 5:6). Like the church of Laodicea, America has shut her door on Jesus, and rather than plead with the nation, He says, "Behold I stand at the door and knock, and if any one hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me." (REV 3:20).
CORRUPTION THAT COMPELS
Yet the fact of the matter is that regardless of this document and that of the Constitution of the united States of America that should have ensured our rights and freedom, the infectious workings of corruption spawned and grew resolutely and effectively in the dark, hidden corners of our country, unseen by the unconcerned. Why did this happen? Because we were not vigilant, and the price of freedom is, and always has been vigilance:
“The condition upon which GOD hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequences of his crime and the punishment of his guilt.”

Many provide solid arguments that I can’t disagree with, that our Constitution has been nullified or at least in the far advanced stages of being nullified by what’s known as ‘the secret government’ or ‘the Establishment’ of the United States through conspiratorial treaties and agreements with nations and organizations that have obtained unconstitutional power over our own government and elected officials. This began early on, even before the days of Woodrow Wilson (28th President of the united States of America) but began to spread like rank weeds during his administration, with keen, diabolical oversight by Colonel Edward Mandell House.

House, who was instrumental of the establishment of this ‘The Creature from Jekyll Island’*) that is unconstitutional in its inception and even its very existence: the Federal Reserve which has siphoned genuine wealth from us and into the pockets of (mostly) European International bankers.

John Adams said that liberty lost is never regained.
It’s a matter of historical record that nations go from a state of bondage to spiritual faith, to courage then to liberty, from liberty to abundance; then from abundance to selfishness, then to complacency, apathy, then to dependence and tragically back to bondage.
There are no more ‘new lands’ as America once was with which to start over, no other haven to which pilgrims can flee. No chance at all to begin again elsewhere (too bad the Moon wasn’t inhabitable!).
We are seeing the dismantling of GOD-given liberty towards the end of ending the life of our nation (and with it the confiscation of private property (the Federal Government owns nearly a third of all the land in our nation; this is unconstitutional)). The tenet that was originally written in the Declaration of Independence but was overwritten with “pursuit of happiness” was “pursuit of land”.
This is where the concept of a sovereign American came in. Not only were we a sovereign nation, with sovereign independent but united States, we were also as American citizens, sovereign individuals with property ownership. One man’s freedom was unlimited except where they interfered with another man’s freedom, and with the right to own property, everyone was entitled to throw someone off of their own land if they attempted in any way to violate that individual’s sovereign rights.
This is why Socialism always seeks the abolition of private property.
What we are talking about is enslavement, the very thing that GOD opposes and why He sent His Son to die for our sins to begin with: to end the slavery of sin, of Satan and of self. It’s these three enemies that conceives of and allows to thrive the ideology of oppressive government and diabolical rule of despots and those that lust for power.
TOWER OF BABEL REVISITED
Yet because the majority of this world summarily and conclusively rejects Christ, most especially the human rulers of this world, they remain slaves to these three tyrannical masters.
Even the ‘goblins’ (a.k.a. globalists) who believe that they are at the top (read that as 33rd Degree Masons; for a very comprehensive 5 hr. video on this subject, check this out!) – or at least near the top of the pyramid of political and economic power – are truly blind and hapless slaves, marionettes to their puppet master, Satan who hates them passionately and yearns to see them, along with the rest of humanity utterly and eternally destroyed in the fires of hell (that’s his objective, but not before he squeezes every ounce of worship of himself he can from the seas of humanity).

There are those who desire to overthrow the globalist-centric ‘secret government’ with a call to arms, and retake our liberties from a tyrannical government as precisely declared in the Declaration of Independence and affirmed in Second Amendment rights under the Constitution as State militias, and that would be an appropriate call to action if not for this one factor:
When we broke away from Great Britain we were, for the most part, a GOD-fearing people, who sought for His guidance and holy will, and with a sense of destiny desired to build this new land as “one nation under GOD”.
We can’t even make this claim as a nation anymore; I believe it was Ronald Reagan who said, “A nation not under GOD is a nation gone under”. Why would we be fighting? To “Make America Great Again”? – in prosperity and freedom (to do whatever one would wish, rather than secure such freedoms in order to serve GOD and His kingdom)?
As one brother saint that I have a great deal of respect for once pointed out: we have become a nation that worships at the altar of freedom, but not that which is based on the Bible. This sort of freedom is seen in:
PSALM 2
"Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us."
This is the sort of lascivious liberty that is born of iniquity – or lawlessness. These who call themselves Americans desire to break the bonds of GOD’s Holy Law that testifies of the same wickedness and sin that humanity flourishes and revels in.
“To do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of thy law” are not the words of our founding fathers, but the dark-hearted ideal of occultist Aleister Crowley that we here in America chant! Those bonds that restrain lawlessness have indeed been broken in pieces and cast away.
Should we be free to abort babies (enough infants were murdered to cross the American landscape, from head to toe, 4 times over)? To embrace same-sex marriage partners, which has devolved into the quagmire of confused sexuality where now anything goes (and does!)? To provide billions of dollars’ worth of porn? To trafficked children and hold them up as sex objects to be exploited by adults, and lusted after by pedophiles who are seeking equal rights as a legitimate ‘lifestyle’? To extort, swindle, abscond with that which belongs to others through ‘legal loopholes’ and court procedures? To say nothing of how our own government is robbing us blind.
A NATION GONE UNDER – JUDGMENT
Getting back to pastor Chuck for a moment in the study of Jeremiah (check out Whitestone Christian Fellowship teaching on Jeremiah with pastor Bob Lawrenz!); back in 1979 Chuck stated that he couldn’t see America surviving one more generation because things are just “so bad”. What would he say if he lived to see 2021?!
I am firmly convinced that we as a nation are under judgment; we have wicked rulers governing, who conduct deals behind the curtain of politics that feed their greed as they are sucking up bribes from China as quickly as they are offered. American-born traitors that are allying themselves with our enemies as spies on US Citizens. And all of the aforementioned abominations, any single one of which would be just-cause to bring us down.
Jeremiah implored the leaders of Israel not to fight Babylon, because they are the hand of GOD which He is using to judge the nation.
Would GOD use China to judge the United States? Perhaps along with Russia and N. Korea? And countless numbers of Islamic sleeper cells planted across the country by Iran? And our own Federal Government inundated with Marxist Socialists?
And if we, like Israel, are indeed under GOD’s judgment, then what hope could we have in obtaining victory over our enemies, as though we were fighting a just cause? When carnality rules in the American church today; when the church has proven to be nearly as corrupt as the nation we find ourselves in. When there is little prayer and repentance in our hearts – even if we make a show of it in our pews.
As mentioned before, Israel was full of false prophets that assured the king of victory. Their voices were no longer heard in the deathly silence of the land, abandoned and forlorn of her people.
We saw plenty of so-called prophets in America declaring that revival is soon to sweep the land, and that the election would go to Trump. So . . .? What happened?
Let us all prayerfully consider our course of action in these dark days of oppression and injustice by the guidance of the LORD and His Word.
For myself, I will go the way of Daniel – and Jeremiah, and pray for this nation, but not take up arms against our enemies (be they foreign OR domestic), if in fact we are under the judgment of GOD – in my opinion, it would be a losing battle!
I understand that this is not a popular perspective – not any more today than it was in the days of Jeremiah, who was so hated by the people, they accused him of treason, of being a traitor to his own nation: when all along, he was only speaking the Word of GOD to them. For that, they threw him in a dungeon knee deep in sludge! And it was only a matter of time when the prophet was martyred!
IS THERE ANY HOPE?
We need to wake up in this last hour before midnight spiritually speaking; arouse our slumbering hearts and muddled minds with a fresh wind of GOD’s Spirit and return to “the old paths” of GOD’s Most Holy Word!
JEREMIAH 6:15-19
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed; Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time I punish them, They shall be cast down," says the LORD. 16 Thus says the LORD: "Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.' 17 Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!' But they said, 'We will not listen.' 18 Therefore hear, you nations, And know, O congregation, what is among them. 19 Hear, O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people, the fruit of their thoughts, Because they have not heeded My words, Nor My law, but rejected it.
While the nation on the whole declared that they would not seek, nor walk in the old paths – that is, the tried and true Word of GOD; while they refused to take warning that the LORD issued forth through the prophets, His watchmen (pictured here as the trumpet) – there were some in every generation that represented a remnant, a small core of faithful believers who walked daily in those old paths.
Likewise we have a remnant here today in America – a small core of faithful believers who, no matter what, love the LORD and will witness His hand in their lives to protect and to provide, even if need be, provision of grace to endure persecution or martyrdom in the good ol’ US of A, the nation that GOD shed His grace upon.
Every life has a beginning and an ending; the same with nations. For the most powerful of nations throughout history, they existed roughly three centuries or so, before their power waned and then faded from the glory that was once theirs. America is no different, of course.
We’ve had our day in the sun, and twilight is upon us, and soon it will be under cover of nefarious night when no one godly shall be able to do any godly work (JOHN 9:41). Those with any shred of patriotic decency will mourn over the demise of our once godly nation, whose very history is being re-written by godless, reprehensible socialists that gleefully spit on our flag, and whose designs are to deform our once beloved nation into “the model form of government” which George Soros claimed, is the Chinese Communist Party.
Our nation, our godly heritage, our Constitution has been corrupted by the corrupt and allowed to flourish in the corruptible.
Yet we as Christians have the eternal hope of a Kingdom not made by corrupt hands, but by the incorruptible, nail-scarred hands of our holy LORD and Savior – the KING Who is coming to establish, right here on Earth, His glorious Kingdom, the Kingdom of Israel. Jerusalem will be the world capital, the Jewish people esteemed above all the nations, and where man will no more learn war (or oppression!)! The former, lesser beacon of hope that was America will be outdone by the brilliance of this Greater Beacon, Whose Hope is founded upon Jesus Christ Who shall rule in the Kingdom of GOD:

And he shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

This glorious Kingdom where nothing impure will be allowed entrance but shall be populated by people who once were impure, but by means of the Gospel, made righteous and justified in the LORD Jesus and His salvation:
1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-11
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
REVELATION 22:12-15
And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,
While we witness things in this world, once cherished and treasured things, falling into ruin or even outright vandalized by haters of freedom and truth, let’s understand that the LORD is in the process of ‘shaking things up’ and everything and anything not established on the Rock – Himself, the Author of Truth and Liberty – will come crashing down into the dust. Only those squarely placed on the Rock will endure and thrive from here on into eternity.
The Day will then come with ruin that crashed into the dust that will be consumed in the holy fire of GOD’s Judgment. Then, nothing sinful, nothing evil, nothing corrupt or perverted will exist in the world!!
America’s last gleaming will soon by followed by the blazing, glorious Light of GOD’s glorious Kingdom of Zion that shall rule heaven and earth, forever and ever world without end!
